BIOS Version: T205
I had installed Linux Mint on my GTi15 computer and decided to wipe the drive and restore an image that I had created of it; I use Clonezilla (this version3.3.1-35). It was going to take a while for the image to restore and it was evening time so I decided to shut my Samsung monitor off so there was no light coming from it; the GTi15 is connected via USB-C to the Samsung monitor. When the morning came, I noticed that the computer did not shut down as I instructed Clonezilla to do after the image was restored, which has always worked on all of my other computers with no issues. So I waited 2 more days and the computer still did not shut down. I then turned the monitor back on and made sure my source was USB-C and I had no video at all; mouse movements and arrow keys did not cause the video to come back. So I now had to do a hard shutdown. I then restarted my GTi15 with my monitor set to USB-C and no video at all, not even a splash screen to choose DEL or F7. This is not good! So I now cleared the CMOS (reset the BIOS) by paperclip in the audio jack on the back as the instructions state for this GTi15. When I start the computer, the on light certainly appears but no video even with the monitor set to USB-C. Ok, it seems I now own a very expensive brick. Any ideas on what may be occurring and what the fix is, if any? Thank you.
