Hi I have been running this since 2023 with no issues on Ubuntu 20.04 and currently on Ubuntu 24.04. Its on original 1.11 bios.
Recently due to hot summer temps were climbing to 92c on firefox causing stuttering so I opened it to remove dust and clean fans - just the top black part for disk with fan not the cpu - and this reduced max temps to around 82-83 with spikes to 92 but no more stuttering.
However a new problem started - random reboots with no logs - sometime after 3 hours, sometime on boot, just randomly opening a new firefox and mostly on suspend - it will reboot and there are no log entries suggesting crash or error. Have been monitoring temps and this random reboot happens even at 60c so not a temp issue. I opened the pc again to check ram is secure and nvme and ran memtest with no errors and the problem still continues.
So I rebooted to Windows 11 and tested it and on Windows there is no issue with rebooting after a full day of testing. I am at a loss why this should happen on Ubuntu only suddenly. This usually happens due to cstate issues on amd processors according to reddit and linux forums but it only started after I opened the pc to clean - it worked for 3 years on Ubuntu with no issue, and there is no issue on windows , only ubuntu 24.04. So I dont know what is suddenly causing this. I always disable auto updates on ubuntu and I do remember seeing a firmware update dialog in ubuntu which I dismissed.
I want to update the bios to 1.15 and see if it fixes it. If you have any idea how I can fix this or anyone else experienced this let me know.
