Greetings,
I purchased the “Beelink EQi13 Mini PC, Intel 13420H 8C/12T, 16GB LPDDR5 500G PCIe4.0 SSD” 3 years ago and I solely use it as my PLEX server.
The PC ran well and never really had any issues. It would only go offline when Windows updates forces restarts. Now 3 years later, about once a day, the PC freezes and my Plex server goes offline. The PC itself is running and I can hear the fans, the front power button is lit up. But the Ethernet cord which normally lights up from connectivity isn’t lit up anymore. When I go to select the PC from my TV, it says there’s no connection. So the PC is frozen. Hitting the power button does nothing. I have to take the power cord out to restart it. Then it will run fine for a out another almost 24 hours and it freezes again.
Obviously, right away, my thoughts are heat. So I bought a stand which is a fan, that the PC sits on. This fan keeps the PC pretty darn cold, at least the frame of the PC gets shockingly chill. So at this point, I don’t think heat is the issue unless the thermal paste has depleted on the CPU..
I went through and changed, double checked all the power management options, time out options. All that type of stuff in windows I have changed to be “full power, never turn off”. Those types of options…
Does anyone know what could be causing these freezes all of a sudden after the PC was solid for years? Any help is appreciated 👍
