SER10 Max - Stuck during boot

I have a SER10 Max AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 that is getting stuck during boot from a cold start.

SER10 MAX L 641TBV 64 PRO DP XA

The user shuts the PC off overnight and when they try to boot it in the morning it will hang during the Windows loading screen.
A few times we have observed that it is attempting to install Windows Updates which it shows fail and has to revert.
Windows shows that there are no updates available once the PC is booted.
We have upgraded the BIOS.

As a work-around we have found that we can pull the power from the system and bleed it and after several attempts the PC will eventually boot.

Once the PC has successfully booted, we are able to reboot the PC safely.

Any thoughts on how we can get past these forced reboots in the morning?

Hello there,

Please try disabling Windows Fast Startup:

Control Panel → Power Options → Choose what the power buttons do
Click “Change settings that are currently unavailable”
Uncheck “Turn on fast startup (recommended)”
Save → Restart → Test the cold start in the morning after shutting down overnight.

A conflict between recent Windows security updates, specific AMD driver packages, and the hardware’s low-state power handling causes the system to hang at the boot logo on a cold start. Because the update fails to apply cleanly during the background shutdown phase, Windows attempts to force-configure it on the next morning’s cold boot, hangs, and eventually rolls it back once hard-reset. Bleeding the power clears the motherboard’s residual capacitance and resets the EC (Embedded Controller) state, which is why it eventually lets you back in.
