I own the AOOSTAR EG02 eGPU dock and a Beelink SER9 HX 370 mini PC, and I’m trying to figure out if it’s safe to power the mini PC directly through the dock’s DC output.
From what I found on the AOOSTAR website and in an older thread, the EG02’s DC port for mini PCs outputs a fixed 12V / 12A. My Beelink SER9’s original power brick, however, is rated 19V / 5.26A.
I found a reddit discussion where a user mentioned successfully running an Aoostar Maco H255 (which also has a 19V/6.32A rated brick) off the EG02’s 12V output without issues, explaining that the mini PC’s internal DC-DC converter likely accepts a wider input voltage range than just 19V, and that the higher voltage rating on the brick is mainly there to keep the brick smaller.
Has anyone here specifically run a Beelink SER9 (HX 370) off the EG02’s 12V DC output? Any issues with stability, throttling, or shutdowns under load? Does anyone know the actual input voltage range of the SER9’s internal DC-DC converter/power board? (e.g., is it rated for 12–20V, or does it strictly need something closer to 19V?)
I’d like to power the mini PC through the dock for convenience (single cable setup), but I don’t want to risk damaging the mini PC’s power circuitry or causing instability if the input voltage is out of spec for its converter.
