UEFI Capsule Update

Hello,

I have a Beelink EQ14 Mini PC that I use as a headless Linux server.

I would like to use Linux fwupd to install firmware updates. However, fwupd reports:

WARNING: UEFI capsule updates not available or enabled in firmware setup

I would like to know if the EQ14 firmware supports UEFI Capsule Updates (OS-initiated firmware updates).

In particular, could you please confirm whether the EQ14 firmware supports:

UEFI Capsule Update / UpdateCapsule()
EFI System Resource Table (ESRT)
UEFI Firmware Management Protocol (FMP)

If these features are supported, which UEFI/BIOS setting enables UEFI Capsule Updates?

I have checked the UEFI setup menus, but I cannot find a setting for Capsule Updates.

Could you also tell me:

Is there a newer BIOS/UEFI firmware version with Capsule Update support?
Does the EQ14 expose an ESRT table to the operating system?
Are any special UEFI settings required for fwupd?
Is there a recommended procedure for performing firmware updates from Linux?

The system is running Linux in UEFI mode and is normally operated without a monitor or keyboard.

The FWUPD warning “UEFI capsule update is unavailable” indicates a missing firmware layer, and cannot be remedied through BIOS settings; it can only be used to upgrade NVMe SSDs, keyboards, mice, docking stations, and other peripheral devices that support LVFS.
Official BIOS upgrade process for EQ14: Send us the main page of the BIOS, and we will check if there is a BIOS update for you.
Please repeatedly press delete key as soon as you turn on the PC, go to BIOS. Please send us a picture of the Main page, we will check if you need to update the BIOS.
If you want to have a long-term display-free state, it is recommended to simultaneously enable “Power On After Power Loss” + “Auto Power On” in the BIOS, so that the device will automatically restart upon power loss; also enable WOL (Wake-on-LAN) for remote wake-up. Subsequent upgrades only require remote booting → triggering the display once with an IPMI/HDMI deceiver.

The only thing I am asking about is specifically about support for UEFI Capsule Updates https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFI#UEFI_Capsule

I cannot find a setting for this in the UEFI interface. Where is the setting to enable UEFI Capsule Updates?

American Megatrends UEFI based firmware supports this, so either it is named something different in the Beelink UEFI implementation, or it has been hidden or disabled.

Regarding the question of whether the device BIOS supports UEFI Capsule Updates
(i.e., BIOS upgrades via fwupd/LVFS): most consumer-grade mini PCs have not submitted firmware packages to LVFS, so BIOS upgrades via fwupd are not available. This is due to missing firmware-level components (specifically, the absence of ESRT/FMP GUIDs and the UpdateCapsule interface), rather than a simple case of a BIOS setting being turned off.
