Hi everyone,
I’m hoping someone familiar with the SER5 5800H or the AZW_SER5_V2.0 motherboard can help me diagnose a very strange intermittent failure.
The system is a Beelink SER5 with Ryzen 7 5800H, motherboard marked AZW_SER5_V2.0. It had previously stopped working and appeared to be completely dead except for the power LED and fan. I recently took it apart to troubleshoot it.
With the NVMe SSD removed and only one 16GB DDR4-3200 SODIMM installed in Slot 1, something unexpected happened: the machine POSTed normally.
It displayed the AMI UEFI Interactive Shell. I connected a keyboard, typed exit, and successfully entered the BIOS. The BIOS correctly identified:
AMD Ryzen 7 5800H with Radeon Graphics
16GB DDR4
BIOS version: 5800H602
Build date: 06/15/2023
I have photos showing both the successful UEFI shell and BIOS screens.
Unfortunately, while the machine was simply sitting in the BIOS, the display suddenly went black. The power LED remained on and the fan continued running. At that point, even holding the power button would not shut the machine down.
Since then, I have been unable to get it to POST again.
So far I have tried:
Both original 16GB SODIMMs individually
Both SODIMM slots
HDMI and DisplayPort
Removing the NVMe SSD
Removing the Intel AX200 Wi-Fi card
CLR CMOS with power disconnected
Disconnecting the RTC/CMOS battery for several minutes and discharging the board
Original 19V/5.26A (100W) power supply
A second known-working Beelink 19V power supply for a POST test
Minimal configuration: motherboard/CPU, cooler, one SODIMM and display only
The current symptom is consistently power LED on + fan running + no video/POST.
The strange part is that the system unquestionably POSTed and operated normally in the UEFI shell and BIOS once during this troubleshooting session, so the CPU, iGPU, memory controller, RAM and firmware were at least functional at that time.
The motherboard identification is:
AZW_SER5_V2.0
SER5-5800H 0+0G
I have attached photos of the motherboard identification and the successful BIOS screen.
Does anyone know of a common failure on this motherboard that could cause intermittent POST followed by a hard freeze like this?
I would also be interested in obtaining the correct BIOS image for this exact AZW_SER5_V2.0 / 5800H board, including the possibility of programming the SPI flash externally if necessary.
Finally, does anyone know whether Beelink/AZW supplies replacement motherboards for this model? Since the Ryzen 7 5800H is soldered to the board, I would need the complete motherboard/CPU assembly.
I’m comfortable disassembling the system and doing further diagnostics with a multimeter or external SPI programmer if someone can point me toward useful test points/components.
Thanks for any suggestions!
