This truly is an interesting problem, AMD says that it’s a BIOS problem but neither Beelink nor Minisforum have a solution. Mario L. at AMD says that the muxes for the display aren’t being initialized correctly, yet Linux runs fine on laptops with strix-point. He indicated that the minis don’t have an E-Display Port so it’s possible that the problem is deeper than a BIOS update can fix.
If this were Yet Another N-100 mini, I could see letting it slide but for Minisforum and Beelink, this is their flagship mini and until Strix-Halo comes out, a bit of a black eye for both.
The SER9 is truly a delightful little box, so cool, quiet yet powerful. It would truly be a shame to have to toss it in the bin when something changes and we can’t use the dcn_3_5_dmcub.bin workaround any more.
