It was a slow NVME. I pulled, cloned and replaced with old FanXiang 256NVME which blows the doors off the junk now in place. To the stores credit they did post the 500MB/s speed which I found yesterday.
The problems are review sites are showing the faster speeds but sites are now a year out of date. But for $15, the potential is there.
I placed a 2T Crucial BX500 Sata SSD in the SATA spare drive slot. Found on sale but lots of file space at 500 MB/s speeds, works fine.
