Hi, hope this can help someone save some time and frustration. Got a Crucial bx500 1tb sata ssd and installed it in the dedicated slot of the s12 pro ( with pc shut down ). Despite being initialized with diskpart the ssd was visible only in the bios in the sata ports configurations section ( in port 1 ) but neither was available in the boot options nor between the target destinations for flashing in raspberry pi imager/rufus/balena etcher in Windows. After days of struggling I just set the Hot plug option in bios to “enabled” and changed also the type from hdd to ssd. The ssd then appeared making possibile for me to flash Batocera over it and also to set it as boot option
#1 in bios.
I didn’t expect by the way that I needed to enable hot plug since the ssd had been installed with the pc powered off, but anyway, this solved my problem.
