Hi, I received my SER9 today and unfortunately, I’m facing some issues. I wanted to use the SER9 just with a docking station (Sonet Echo 20 Superdock with Power Delivery 100 Watt) via the USB4 port without a original power supply. Unfortunately, this doesn’t work. Every time the PC shuts down during startup, regardless of whether the Balance Mode or Power Mode is set in the BIOS. When the PC is connected to the dock via USB4, the first screen where you can enter the BIOS or Boot menu does not appear; instead, you only see the Windows 11 login window. However, if I additionally connect the PC via HDMI, the screen is fully displayed right from the start. Sometimes strange noises (coil whine or something similar) come from the speakers, mostly while playing games. Is there any suggestions to fix the problems? Thanks in advance.

Hi there,Your computer needs additional power supply, otherwise the power supply is insufficient.

But I still a bit confused, all the Youtube reviews says it runs without supply just by USB4 Power Delivery without issues. Just some example:

The second issue I mentioned before is still present with the original power supply.

So, is there no possibility to update or tweak the BIOS so that it can run solely on USB4 Power Delivery? It’s a pity; otherwise, I will unfortunately need to return this PC.

Btw. Dockingstation works fine with my RedmiBook Pro 16 2024 with Intel 155H over Thunderbolt 4, no issues so far.

Please uncheck the save energy in the device manager—universal serial bus controller–USB hub—properties–power management—uncheck “Allow the computer to turn off the device to save power”

Disable Fast Startup
In Control Panel, click the Power Options. Select the Choose what the power buttons do. Uncheck the “Turn on fast startup.”, click save changes.

For BIOS
Please send us a picture of SN number and BIOS version .
So we would be able to know whether it is latest BIOS and send you files accordingly.

Hi, I do all the steps with usb-hub uncheck and fast Boot disable. Unfortunately the result still the same 🙁. Can’t see the BIOS screen on Boot if I use USB4. Just with HDMI it show the screen where can I tap delete or F7. I send my SN in attachment.

① It is recommended to use 120W PD power
② May i ask are you connecting to the HDMI interface via USB4?
If it is connected to the TYPE C interface, there should be no problem, but if it is USB4 to HDMI, there may be compatibility issues.
③ The current sound is normal.

This may be due to the main screen and the secondary screen. The main screen is fully displayed, and the secondary screen is only displayed after entering the system.

Please try the following
Right-click on a blank area of the desktop and select Display settings.
In the Display settings window, you will see a layout of the two screens. If the two screens are not displayed, click “Detect” to try to re-identify.
In the image of the screen arrangement, select the monitor you want to set as the primary screen.
It will usually be marked 1 or 2.Scroll down and find the Multiple displays section.
Check（Set as main display）
