S13 only displays low resolution (1280x1024) on 1600x1200 monitor

New S-13, Linux (OpenSuSE Leap 15.5) installed. Connected to 1600×1200 monitor with HDMI to DVI cable. Should display at normal 1600×1200 resolution - other machines with same OS do, but I only get low 1280×1024 resolution. (xrandr says that’s the only available resolution.) Amazon info (where I bought it) says it should be able to do up to 3840 × 2160. The adapter cable (Thsucords 4K HDMI to DVI Cable 3.3FT) supports 1600×1200 and above.

Why is this happening, and how do I fix it?

I don’t have an HDMI monitor. Have one ordered, but it’s not arriving until next week. Would like to get this one working, as I’d planned to use it as second monitor on a dual display.
’I can try running it with the monitor I’m using on my current PC. It’s also DVI, but 1920×1200.

My new monitor arrived. It is an Acer CB272U, which is supposed to support up to 2560×1440 resolution. However, with the S-13 and HDMI cable, it only shows low resolution 1920×1080.
I have similar problem with my other monitors. (Dell U2412M and 2001FP). They do 1920×1200 and 1600×1200 respectively when connected to machines (all running same version of OpenSuSE Linux) with DSub cables, but only low resolution when connected to the S13 with HDMI to DVI cable.

jamesqf Hi there, sorry, but the HDMI port only support 4K 60HZ. Your monitori is 2560×1440, it sounds like a hairtail screen, that is why it cannot support the full resolution. When you use HDMI to DVI cable, it might have compatibility issue.

But (at least according to Google) HDMI 4K resolution is 3840 × 2160, which is a good deal more than what the monitor supports. Do you mean that the S13 ONLY supports that resolution, and if the monitor doesn’t also support it, it drops down to the low-resolution 1920×1080?

I believe I’ve found the problem. Apparently the Linux kernel didn’t support the N150 graphics until quite recently. Installing the most recent OpenSuSE Tumbleweed release (kernel version 6.12.8) seems to have support. At least I get all the resolutions of the Dell monitor I’m using at the moment. Runs 1600×1200 with HDMI to DVI cable now. Will check others when I have time.

Yes, it runs that (with HDMI cable that came with the BeeLink), and works with the 1600×1200 monitor as a second screen using HDMI to DVI cable. So the older kernel was the problem.
