I recently upgraded the bios on my SER9 to latest version (in an attempt to fix the Firmware Protection not enabled issue. Unfortunately this did not fix it.)
However, prior to the bios update, when I left the system on idle, it would enter sleep and after a minute or so, turn the fan off. It may be coincidence but now it never turns the fan off.
Doing some investigation, it seems the system does not (now?) support S3 suspend to ram mode. Only power state S0 is supported. Is this because of the bios upgrade?
Please can we have a bios update that will enable S3 sleep state and the fan to stop? Running the fan 24×7 will eventually destroy the bearings and cause unnecessary dust build up. (And increased power consumption).
Thanks
