Recently got myself the Beelink SER8 8745HS and I’ve tried everything I could think off, plus every solution I found that someone else had posted but can’t get it to run some games/bechmarks without issues .
Specs : Crucial CT2K16G56C46S5 2×16GB 5600MH/z ram and samsung 990 pro ssd .
Both have been tested with memtest86 and samsung magician and there were 0 errors on these .
I’ve updated my BIOS to the latest version with beelink’s support help from e-mails and also using the drivers from https://dr.bee-link.cn/?dir=uploads%2FSER%2FSER8-8745%2FDriver
specifically the SER8745-Driver_2024-10-14_2-42-49.zip which is what they also sent to me in e-mails .
BIOS settings that I’ve changed are from balance to performance mode and changing the VRAM from 4GB to 8GB, along with enabling resize BAR support . I’ve tested with resize BAR support disabled as well and there was no change . Same with testing balanced mode .
Something to note is that the adrenalin version provided by beelink is one that has this problem
https://community.amd.com/t5/pc-drivers-software/amd-software-adrenaline-just-closes-in-the-background/m-p/715921
I constantly have to check if it randomly closed . There’s no event viewer logs for the app closing either . Of course as I mention below, I’ve also tried downloading the software detection tool from https://www.amd.com/en/support/download/drivers.html and still had the same issues with this .
I’ve encountered issues when trying to play Final Fantasy 14 free trial version and on the Monster hunter Wilds benchmark . On both of these I’ll get stuttery audio along with other issues, mainly on ff14 .
I’m using a 1920×1080 60Hz monitor, that also has speakers, with the HDMI cable provided with the mini . I also tried using 2 different monitors with different cables, an HDMI cable and a display port cable, and it didn’t fix the problems . Was also using speakers and different keyboard&mouse on these tests .
I’ve tried clean installing Win10 and when that didn’t work as well, I decided to try Linux Mint . I’ve tried all kinds of drivers besides the ones provided by beelink along with disabling windows driver updates . Every time I wanna try another driver I’ll either use DDU on safe mode or it’ll be a clean install of Windows .
The problem on ff14 is that no matter what my in-game graphic settings are, the only way to play the game is to cap the fps to 30 from in-game . If the fps are capped to 30 the game runs fine but when the fps are uncapped or capped to 60 the game becomes completely unplayable .
The audio will stutter, and inputs become very laggy , to the point that as long as the game is running in the background after I alt-tab, my keyboard inputs are laggy even outside the game when I’m trying to type . Even alt-tabbing or pressing the WinKey is so unresposnive I have to press it multiple times .
On ff14 I’ve tried everything, changing graphic settings from lowest possible to maximum, changing resolution, enabling fsr, changing(enabling/disabling) windows setting for optimizing windowed games, and any other “fix” I could find for similar issues that were posted by others online .
For monster hunter wilds since it’s just a bechmark I can’t tell if the same input lag problem exists, but the same audio stuttering does exist .
I’ve noticed on OCCT that when I run the gpu benchmark the gpu seems to throttle with reason power . I’ve also never seen this machine get hotter than 72 C which is odd . Will try cinebench again and check temps but I’m pretty sure this usually goes up to 89 C when maxed out, so I’m definitely leaning on this being a hardware issue .
Thanks for any help !
