I have the Mini s12 that is about 2 years old running Ubuntu. Power failure occurred and now it has trouble booting. The following three scenarios occur at random when booting.
The most frequent scenario is that it appears as though the SSD is not recognized. It will go into pxe boot.
The second most frequent scenario is that it boots all the way to Ubuntu but when the login screen is supposed to load it will show “oh no something has gone wrong”. This would lead me to think an OS repair would fix things but since the SSD isn’t recognized most of the time I’m thinking maybe the SSD has gone bad.
The third scenario is that it will boot all the way into the OS and everything is running fine. It will remain up and working until I need to restart again. While in Ubuntu I can run the smartctl command to see the SSD statistics and it appears that the SSD is ok.
Could this be bios related issue requiring an update/re-flash or maybe some other hardware component failure? Do you have any diagnostic utilities to check the health of the hardware? Any other recommendations?
Thank you
