Ser5 5700 microphone not working

Hello,

I have a SER5 5700 16gig 1Tb unit running for a month or so. I noticed the other day the microphone input is not working. I added an external sound card box(USB), and it’s microphone input is not working either!
I have the latest drivers from the website, including the Realtek audio driver dated May 2024.

The microphones are showing up in Windows/Sounds/Recording Devices. They just do not work. I tried two different microphones, but no luck. Tried the microphones in an external audio mixer, and they work there.

In a related matter, I installed Voicemeeter Potato, and it is supposed to show a VAIO3 Output in the recording devices under Sounds. It is not there. However, Potato DOES show VAIO Input under Playback devices, and it works.

Not sure how to fix this, since I have the latest drivers!

Hi there
Please try some solutions here :
CLR CMOS
First, please unplug the power supply and HDMI cable.
Secondly, Please hit the “CLR CMOS” button for about 10 seconds.
Please wait until 10 minutes later (THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT),
Then plug the power supply and HDMI cable back in, turn on the PC again,
once turn on the PC, you will need more than one minute to wait for the PC to enter the system.
See if it works. Please try few more times.

Go to the windows terminal (admin) > type in : sfc /scannow > then wait until finished.
