Hi there,
Here’s how to set up the second LAN port of your Beelink EQR6 to share the internet connection with your old PC:
1.Enable Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) on the Beelink EQR6. In Windows 11, go to “Settings” > “Network & Internet” > “Advanced network settings”. Find the network connection corresponding to the LAN1 port that is connected to the router, right - click it and select “Properties”. In the properties window, go to the “Sharing” tab and check the box “Allow other network users to connect through this computer’s internet connection”.
2.Connect the old PC to LAN2 of the Beelink EQR6 using an Ethernet cable. Make sure the old PC is set to obtain an IP address automatically. It should then receive an IP address from the EQR6 via the shared connection and be able to access the internet.
3.You can also connect a NAS in a similar way. Here’s how:
Set up the NAS: If it’s a new NAS, you may need to install its operating system and perform initial configurations according to the manufacturer’s instructions. For example, if it’s a Synology NAS, you can install the Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM) following the official guide.
Connect the NAS to LAN2 of the Beelink EQR6 with an Ethernet cable. Configure the network settings on the NAS to obtain an IP address automatically. The NAS should then be able to access the internet through the shared connection on the EQR6.
4.It’s important to note that sharing the internet connection in this way may have some limitations, such as reduced network performance compared to a direct connection to the router, especially if multiple devices are using the shared connection simultaneously. Also, make sure that your home network setup and router settings allow for this kind of sharing. If you encounter any problems, it may be helpful to consult the user manuals of your Beelink EQR6, router, and NAS for more detailed troubleshooting information.
