Greetings!
I’m loving my GTI 13 Ultra, but I’d like to tweak it a little bit since the CPU is unlocked.
I’ve noticed that this CPU boosts up to 5.4GHz and instantly throttles because of the insane voltage intel applies, causing the CPU to thermal throttle. So after digging around the bios, I’ve tweaked several parameters, but I can’t reduce the CPU multiplier for some reason (it doesn’t apply).
When using Intel XTU or Throttlestop, I can tweak the multipliers and I was able to reduce the max turbo to 4.2GHz, reducing the temperatures a lot, while making the CPU sustain 3.3GHz all core instead of the ~ 2.4GHz default (in 100% load). This massively increased performance and I’m happy with the results, but I wanted to apply these on the BIOS and not rely on software (for several reasons).
The only thing I can change in BIOS is the TDP from 54 to 65 and the voltage. Is there any setting I can use to change the turbo multiplier? The ones I found didn’t apply while booting windows. Let me make clear that I don’t want to increase the multiplier, but decrease the multiplier. I want the CPU to run cooler with lower voltage so it can last longer, while maintaining better sustained performance.
Can someone please help?
Thanks.
