Mate Mini SSD Unexpected Dismount

I have the Mate Mini (Model B) connected to my Mac mini Pro running MacOS 15.6. Over the past week, when I wake the computer from sleep I have observed (2) instances where the SSD installed in the Mate Mini experienced an unexpected dismount of the SSD drive. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I noticed a Mate Mini Firmware file in the Downloads Center, but it the firmware utility is targeted for Windows and lacked a MacOS firmware tool. Has anyone performed updated their firmware for the Mate Mini?

Update:
I’ve received a response from Bee-Link which advises me to add an external power to the Mate Mini PD port to resolve the unexpected dismount issue. This isn’t the ideal solution I was hoping for.

Regarding the firmware file, I told it was just used at the setup the factory settings.

Mine did the same thing. If you go to energy setting and toggle “ Prevent automatic sleeping when display is off” will solve the issue.

Gary Thanks for the reply. I just updated the setting. If you don’t mind, I have a few more follow-up questions.
1) Have you observed any more unexpected dismounts since your posting?
2) Do you use a standalone PD power source for your Mate Mini?
3) In your Mate Mini usage, do you regularly put your computer to sleep between usage sessions?

If I don’t put the computer to sleep no more dismounts
No external power supply is being used
No I don’t usually put the computer to sleep, just let the screen time out but don’t click on sleep

Gary - Thanks for the reply. Just had the Unexpected Dismount error during the most recent sleep event today with your Energy setting recommendation. I’ll need to do some more research to characterize power usage when inactive vs. sleep to understand the cost of this approach vs manually mounting/dismounting the SSD.
Based on my previous experience with external drives, I believe this issue is associated with the Mate mini.

Tried not putting the computer to sleep and still had the same unexpected dismount issues. Once I get back from a trip I’m going to pickup a new Mac mini Pro to test this with to verify this isn’t an issue with my computer.

It might be the adapter issue , you can try another thunderbolt cable. Please contact our support team to get a replacement adapter.

Just wanted to update you with my current status. I decided to verify that I correctly followed Gary’s recommendations and sure enough I had done the opposite (of course I did). Since then I have seen no further unexpected dismounts if I don’t put the Mac to sleep. Also note, that I am not using PD power to the Mate mini as I don’t have anything connected pulling power from the hub.

For the fun of it I did put it to sleep and as expected, the Bee-Link SDD drive was eventually dismounted. This appears to be just the nature of using the Mate mini with the Mac mini. It isn’t ideal, but I can live with it.
