Hi team. I’ve struggled with this for a week now. 8 out of 10 times after I shutdown, the power light is still on and I had to press and hold the power button for it to completely off.
My setup:
1/ Bought it last month, hooked up with monitor via HDMI, wired keyboard, bluetooth logitech mouse
2/ Boot into Windows once! Then install Ubuntu 24 on it (I don’t dual boot, only Ubuntu)
3/ Used it for a week then notice the problem (actually not sure when exactly when it started)
Things I have tried:
1/ Unplug everything, clear CMOS, wait, plug them back in and start. No luck!
2/ Heard that usb port might still draw power which cause the issue, so I disabled the BIOS option “OEM … -> USB power on shutdown”. No luck! And the keyboard still get power from the usb port, WHY?
3/ Modify the /etc/default/grub to include the “acpi=force”. It worked for 3 consecutive shutdown then stopped working. Not sure why!
4/ Change both the keyboard/mouse to work on bluetooth mode. No luck!
Can you help me out here? And the annoying thing is “while the power light stays on, I can’t do anything, press the power button again does not do anything, need to press/hold to shut it down completely and press it again!!!!”
