Mate Studio only seeing 1 NVMe after originally seeing both.

I just installed a Mate Studio with 2 WD Black 8TB NVMe drives and it was working fine. Out of curiosity i wanted to see if the read/write speeds would change if i set this up as a RAID. After running Mac RAID Assist and choosing the 2 WD Black drives, it seemed to create the RAID okay, but when I tried to run Blackmagic Disk Speed Utility, it stopped responding and now only one of the drives is being recognized by my Mac. What should I do now? is ther a way to get the other drive working again…not as a RAID but as two individual drives/

I ended up sorting this out. Here’s how. First I confirmed that each NVMe worked individually by plugging them into slot 1 one at a time. I don’t recall the exact steps after that but eventually I was able to get RAID assist to see the RAID and at that point, I deleted the RAID and that freed up the drives for me to unpartition them and re-partition/format them as individual drives. I guess I am going to leave them like this since this works.

Hi there, if you only install one SSD, you need to install it in the first slot.

Hi thank you for that reply and yes i am aware of that per the instructions. I did get the initial problem sorted out and it was working for a while, but today, when I booted my computer up, neither drives appeared. After trying diffferent USB ports on my Mac Studio, they eventually showed up again. Then I plugged the cable back into the original port (on the back) and they showed up there after having not shown up when plugged in there moments earlier. I believe this may be a USB voltage regulation issue. Do you have any suggestions on how to resolve this so that the Studio Mate always gets the voltage it needs? For the record, I have a 40W power adapter attached with an OWC USB-C cable (that came with a Thunderbot 4 OWC Pro Dock).

Please provide a photo of the SN code located on the bottom of your Mate Studio and a photo of your connection setup. I will inquire with the relevant staff members.
