I recently received a Beelink SER5 with Ryzen 7 5825U as a warranty replacement for a failed unit, It seems basically ok, but runs hot, never cooler than 56C, and often running up to 90C before the cooling system seems to kick in (or maybe the CPU throttles) and the temperature starts to fall. I haven’t gotten beyond preparing the system for use, so I haven’t been running anything more demanding than Windows Update so far. It’s sitting in an open space with nothing obstructing the vents. It shouldn’t be running that hot.
Before I contact support and possibly ending up with another 6-week warranty replacement process, I thought I would try updating the BIOS. The computer came with BIOS version SERAL301, and I found an update from last month, SER5H15. I followed the instructions for making an update flash drive, but when I boot from the flash drive, the update script crashes with the error: Failed to load image into memory and stops at a FS3:> prompt. I tried rerunning the flash.nsh script from that prompt, but just get the same error. Is there a way to get past this error?
If you need it, the extended model number of the computer is SER5 PRO-E 16500EJ0W64PO-DP/XB, and the serial# is B58255JG40410.
