Mate Mini ,Tahoe Update

Hello, I recently purchased a Mate Mini, it worked without any problems right away, I use it as a boot disk, a MacMini M4, but the problem has arisen since I wanted to update the OS, it doesn’t update, the installation starts, the Mac restarts but the update doesn’t complete, before I used the Orico thunderbolt enclosure, no problem, if I swap the enclosure, the update completes.

I can currently only install Tahoe 26.01 and cannot upgrade to 26.1. I’ve been troubleshooting for several days, and here is the status:

Clicking “Update” shows the process completing normally, but the system remains at 26.01 after reboot. The upgrade fails to apply.

A clean, full installation from the initial state fails to launch.

However, when I used a different external hard drive, I was able to install and use 26.1 successfully.

This leads me to suspect two potential issues:

A defect in the original Thunderbolt 5 cable or insufficient chip compatibility.

A driver bug in Tahoe 26.1, which has been widely reported by other users.

12 days for the answer….I’ve currently tested the Tahoe beta update, but it won’t install with the Mini Mate. I swapped the Orico Thunderbolt enclosure and the update went well. The SSD in question is the WD850X 1TB, Mac Mini M4.Orico is thunderbolt ¾,
