GK MINI -> The fan runs constantly

Hello everyone,

The fan on my GK mini PC is constantly running and is annoying in a quiet environment. I haven’t found any fan speed settings in the BIOS. Does anyone have any suggestions, or is there a BIOS update available to fix this?

I’m using the mini PC for Home Assistant, and the CPU usage is currently between 2% and 5%, while the memory usage is between 10% and 20%.

I opened the GKMini. It’s like new and has hardly been used. I blew through the fan, but it didn’t get any quieter.

How and where does the fan need to be lubricated? I’ve never heard of a PC fan needing lubrication. I don’t want to break anything. :-) The PC is idle, but the fan is running constantly and won’t turn off.

Thanks for the offer. Unfortunately, I can’t find the receipt anymore. So the warranty claim is void, and I’ll have to take matters into my own hands.

Is it normal for the fan to always run at 100%? What’s likely the problem? Or is the fan duct/intake/exhaust fins the issue (that’s where the noise seems to be coming from)? I’ll just remove the foil/cover in the next few days and maybe break off a few fins to reduce the noise 😀

The fan may be malfunctioning.
Please take it to a local repair shop for inspection to determine the specific issue.
