BIOS versioning

I have an SER9 Pro 32GB, and I’m trying to figure out which BIOS update I should apply, but the versioning is a little confusing.

The current version for my BIOS is SER9L101.

In the November BIOS update blog post, the version for the provided update for the SER9 32GB is 029.P8C0M0C15.07.

In the December BIOS update blog post, the version for the provided update for the SER9 32GB is T501.

These version numbers don’t seem to adhere to any recognizable pattern.

There is also a precaution listed for the T501 version: “First BIOS version, only available for T50X”. It’s not clear what this means.

Can I get some assistance to make sense of this? I’d like to update my BIOS, but I also want to ensure that it is safe to do so and that I will not brick my PC.

Based on our initial assessment, your current BIOS version is the latest and you don’t need to update.

Is my BIOS the latest version?
As I mentioned before, it’s not clear to me how I will know to update the BIOS from the versioning formats. How will I know in the future when a new BIOS is provided?
Does the device have safeguards that prevent incompatible BIOS upgrades?

Yes, the BIOS version of your machine is already the latest.

Generally, we recommend that customers send an email to support-pc@bee-link.com before updating the BIOS to ask the after-sales staff whether the BIOS they want to update is applicable to the corresponding machine.

If the machine updates to the wrong BIOS, it may become a brick.

The machine does not have safeguards that prevent incompatible BIOS upgrades for the time being
