Mate Mini audio port not working

I have connected a Mate Mini to my Mac mini M4 Pro and I have used the Mate Mini audio port to connect audio my external speakers. After a restart, the Mac OS does not see the audio output from the Mate Mini anymore and I cannot fix this issue. I use the Mate Mini port because the native Mac Mini audio port in front is not very convenient. Do you have any suggestion?

Please provide a photo of the Mate Mini showing the SN code on its bottom and a photo of the Mate Mini connected to the Mac mini M4 Pro for our assessment.

Thank you for the reply. The Mate Mini is connected to the MAC MINI M4 Pro via the provided cable and sits on top of the MAC. It has a 2 TB SSD inside and has a 40W power supply connected to it. I do not understand how to upload photos to my message however the S/N is Y94805IE00035 and the label says Docking Station 9Y.4370801N10

Same thing is happening to me. The rear audio port worked fine on my first boot up. But after a reboot (as well as shutting down and restarting), the Mate’s audio no longer shows up in my audio settings. I get a lot of noise out of my speakers when I restart (and even with it is powered off) but that audio port is not listed as an option under Output any longer. I also have the dock powered via a 30w USB-C connection.

Are all three Thunderbolt ports on your Mac mini connected to devices? Please try disconnecting one.
The Mac mini M4 has three Thunderbolt ports but can only connect to a maximum of two Thunderbolt docks. If you connect three, the third one won’t be recognized. This is a known bug with the Mac mini M4 itself.

I only have the Mate mini connected and a USB-C to DisplayPort cable to my 1080p monitor.

Furthermore, the SSDs in the dock aren’t mounting correctly on a reboot. My desktop appears and after a moment, there are 2 notifications that say my SSDs weren’t ejected properly.

I have a similar problem, the audio output works fine while the computer is on, but in the middle of a restar or when I turn off my Mac Mini M4 the speakers start to make a loud noise!
