EQi13 screen flashing black

I am trying to use an EQi13 with 13620H CPU (serial number B13625LF60065, BIOS EQI12D405) running Linux as a home theater PC. Unfortunately, when connected to my main TV (LG G4), the screen frequently flashes black for a second or two. I’ve tested with multiple HDMI cables and TV inputs and also tried changing Linux kernel versions, drivers, Linux power settings and BIOS settings as suggested by web searches but the problem persists. I’ve temporarily tested with an EQi12 with 12450H CPU and a SER8 with 8745HS CPU and the problem does not exist with them so it seems the problem is with the EQi13. Is there a newer BIOS or specific BIOS settings that might fix this issue?

May I ask if you could try reinstalling the system?

I have reinstalled the system many times already. I might have a new clue, though. It seems that the problem is much more prevalent with one of the HDMI ports than with the other one. When using one of the ports, the problem occurs constantly. When using the other port, however, the problem seems to occur only very occasionally For example, I used the system last night for several hours without issue. When I changed ports a short while ago for more testing, the problem returned immediately. I will try again with the less troublesome port tonight. Should either port be able to be used with only one monitor?

So much for my good HDMI port / bad HDMI port theory. I used the “good” port all evening. While I only saw one or two black flashes at first, they eventually became more and more frequent. They weren’t as bad as I’ve seen but they are bad enough to know that something
is wrong.

As noted earlier, I’m using Linux. For one last test, I reinstalled Windows 11 to see how it behaves. The same problem occurs when using Windows 11. Since I am still in my Amazon exchange/return window, I am going to request a replacement. If that unit has the same problem, I will decided then to work with your email support staff or return it. Thanks for your help.

Since the Amazon seller was a third party and not Amazon, getting a replacement will take some coordination and time. In the mean time, I will contact email support in case someone there is aware of a known problem and fix.
