EQR6 - Suspend to RAM ("Sleep")

How can I distinguish whether the Mini-PC is fully shut down, or only suspended to RAM ?

It seems this is not indicated by the Power LED, e.g.
It feels silly to power on the full PC, only to shut it down again, before pulling the power supply plug.

You can refer to these solutions to determine the problem.

Observe the power LED indicator:

Complete shutdown (S5): Power LED is off.

Hibernate to memory (S3): Power LED is on (usually an orange/yellow breathing light or solid light).

Standby/Modern Standby (S0): LED may flash or be on.

Note: On some models, after shutdown (when only connected to AC power), the LED may still be faintly lit or flashing. This is a normal EC standby circuit indicator and not a hibernation state.

Test with the power button:

Press the power button once:

Immediately power on → Previously in hibernation (S3)

No response, need to press and hold for 3-5 seconds to power on → Previously completely shutdown (S5)

Listen to the fan/hard drive noise:

Complete shutdown: All devices are powered off, completely silent.

Hibernate (S3): The fan may run briefly and then stop, but there will be no continuous running.

Thank you. Your options 2) and 3) don’t help me. 1) is the way to go.
I checked and can confirm on my EQR6 Power LED (single white LED):
Power LED on (white): when fully powered on.
Power LED off (white): when shutdown (S5), or in Standby (S3).
Power LED flashing / breathing / amber: I have never observerd

Sorry for that.
Method 1: Test by pressing any key on the keyboard (the simplest method)
When the computer is in the shutdown (S5) state, pressing the keyboard keys will not wake up the machine.
When the computer is in the standby (S3) state, pressing the keyboard keys will wake up the machine (the screen lights up and the fan starts).
As long as the computer is connected to a keyboard/mouse, pressing any key in the S3 state will immediately wake it up. If there is no response after pressing, it is the S5 state.

Method 3: Check network connection status
S3: The network port light may still be on (the motherboard maintains a small amount of power supply)
S5: The network port light is completely off
If the network port light is still on after your EQR6 has shut down, then S3 is not S5.

Method 4: Enable Hibernate as a clear distinction
Since Hibernate is not enabled, you can manually enable it: powercfg /hibernate on
After activation:
Shutdown (S5) = Complete power-off
Hibernate = Data is saved to the disk, complete power-off, but the boot-up speed is slightly faster than cold start
Standby (S3) = Data is in the memory

Thank you for the good suggestions. This helps! Note Keyboard wake-up, I think differs between USB-dongle and Bluetooth connected keyboard.

In general, I think the breathing Power LED would be the best signal for users. Probably this would need implementation in BIOS code.

Thank you for your detailed explanation! Regarding keyboard wake-up, your additions are very accurate:

The wake-up capabilities of USB receiver keyboards and Bluetooth keyboards under S3 are indeed different—USB receivers usually support direct wake-up, while Bluetooth keyboards require an adapter to maintain low-power mode.

Regarding the breathing-style power indicator, currently our products’ power indicator only has two states: “on” and “off.” Your suggestion is very useful. Being able to intuitively distinguish between S3 and S5 states greatly improves the user experience. I will forward this suggestion to the product team for consideration.
