Purchased a Beelink SER8 miniPC (AMD 8845HS) a few weeks ago. I’ve been attempting to find reference to the NPU (aka AMD XDNA) in both Windows 11 “Device Manager” and “Task Manager” with no luck. Also search the BIOS extensively and find no reference. My question is - was there a BIOS upgrade that had the NPU enabled? Or has Windows 11 version 23H2 not made that visible yet?

The location of the SER8 NPU is in the system devices of the device manager. If you want to display the NPU, you need to update Windows to 24H2.

beg That’s a pretty good point I have the same device (SER8) with windows 11 24h2 installed.

After updating AMD’s drivers I can see the NPU processor in the task manager and device manager but in practice I cannot take any advantage of the AI features like Windows Visual Effects (blur background , eye contact), that’s because the system keeps using the GPU as the default processor for AI features.

After some research it seems to need a BIOS update with the specific ability to Enable the NPU/IPU unit for windows to effectively use it. @Beelink will you plan on upgrading the BIOS to include AI features?
