support1 Thanks for the reply. I have almost configured an Azure Ubuntu VM to run my program, so I can shut the system down to work on it.

    Hi there,

Ok, if you have any questions, please do let us know.

    Hi there,

Your BIOS is the latest one.
You can take out the fan to see if the noise will be gone.
If the CPU fan is broken, we can send you the fan replacement.

This is a surprising reply, and I’ll say that I’m quite disappointed.

Would you mind stating what you feel would be the consequences of removing the fan? Also, do you feel the unit is satisfactory for video editing, such as with a program like Davinci Resolve?

So you know, I’m fully prepared to scrap the unit for parts or to remove the case and dangle it about so as to keep cool from the room air circulation. I’m only struggling with this while my financial resources are poor, but Beelink will not be on my list of trusted manufacturers.

        Christopher Hi there,

If you just remove the fan for one or two minutes, it will be fine, just want to know if the fan is broken or not.

Your PC is still under warranty, you can send the item back to our US warehouse , after we get it, we will apply for the replacement for you.

Here’s a short video segment that will let you hear the fan noise. In this case, the system had hung and was not responding to keyboard or mouse input, so I made a video to record the sound as I was performing a hard shutdown before rebooting.

Perhaps you can judge if the fan is broken or not from the loudness of the fan compared to the silence after shutting down the system. I thought I had a clip of the fan spinning faster and then slower in a cycle while previously running a python program continuously, 24 × 7, but don’t find it. The program was retrieving records from the Stellar blockchain network every few minutes, and writing records to a local PostgreSQL database, and whenever the fan would speed up, there was an annoying high pitch sound that was difficult to live with. But now that I have the program running on an Ubuntu VM in the Azure cloud, I’m ready to focus more on using this system for video editing, and am about to install Davinci Resolve.

I’m not wanting to send it off for repair, but do let me know what you think about the fan. If you have an improved fan that you could send, I’d be glad to handle the replacement, but would need to give you my current address privately.

          Thank you!

          Christopher

          Hi Christopher,

          The fan seems defective.
How about we send you a fan replacement?
Please send the CPU fan pictures of both side to support-pc@bee-link.com , and also offer us your shipping address.
We will send you a fan replacement.
If the fan doesn’t work, you can send the PC back for replacement.

Sorry, just to clarify, you want me to open the unit, remove the fan, take pictures of both sides, then replace the fan so I can continue using the system, and send you the pictures and my shipping address to the support email?

What kind fo fan noise? The fan in my 6600H needs to be cleaned about once a year. Even a small amound of dust adhering to the fan will cause it to make or vibrate. Use your household vacuum cleaner. Be very careful not to touch the fan, the blades are extremely fragile. When you are done, swab out the inside with a microfiber cloth. You can use a soft brush to very gently brush any remaining crud off the leading edges of the fan blades.

I can’t hear any noise in the video. The fan in my 6600H needs to be cleaned about once a year. Even a small amount of dust adhering to the fan will cause it to rattle or vibrate. I’m pretty sure any MiniPC fan is going to make audible noise if you are constantly running something that raises the CPU temperature above 60 degrees or so. My 6600H makes fan noise at boot for example when all the startup processes run at the same time. The CPU cools down from 60-ish to the low 40s and the fan noise stops.

Then fan also goes full blast when the CPU hangs. (My hangs stopped in Fedora after a stopped using Chrome browser. The amdgpu driver isn’t 100% solid although it’s been behaving well since the kernel 6.9+ upgrades.)
