I recently got a SER 5 with the AMD 5560U processor. This this thing is great except for an audio issue I can’t seem to resolve. The audio is about a second behind everything. I’ve tried different browsers for YouTube, trying playing a video file, updated drivers, tried different speakers on the headphone output. Tried running through a TV via HDMI . . . the sound is always behind the video. Even in the Sound Setting screen, when I test the output, the little sound meter bounces about a second before the sound is heard. So, it doesn’t seem like a video sync issue necessarily. Any ideas?

HI there Glad to help, Sorry for the trouble when using. Please try some solutions here : CLR CMOS First, please unplug the power supply and HDMI cable. Secondly, Please hit the “CLR CMOS” button for about 10 seconds. Please wait until 10 minutes later (THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT), Then plug the power supply and HDMI cable back in, turn on the PC again, once turn on the PC, you will need more than one minute to wait for the PC to enter the system. See if it works. Please try few more times. Reset Start your PC, just as Windows attempts to load (spinning dots), press and hold Power Button for 5 - 10 seconds to perform a Hard Shut Down Do this twice On the third start Windows will boot into the Recovery Environment and from there you can access System Repair, Safe Mode, Command Prompt . . . etc. Please try each option one at a time, then see if Windows will boot . . . Go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Option - Startup Repair See if Windows startup can repair itself Go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Option - System Restore Check to see if you have a restore point you can go back to If you do not have a Restore Point, go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Option - Startup Settings and click Restart Upon restart, press 4 to enter Safe Mode Once in Safe Mode, backup your data if you do not already have a backup Open Device Manager and check to make sure all your Drivers are up to date Reboot to see if Windows will start Normally If the above fails, go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Options - Reset this PC Choose to keep your files and apps, just your files or to keep nothing Then start the Reset

Hello there, Have you tried to clear the cmos and reset the PC?can it help you?

I have tried clearing the CMOS about 5 times. The delay improved from about .8 seconds to about .3 seconds (I used a YouTube video for measuring the delay). Its better but still very noticeable. I will try the System Repair method next when I have time. Thanks.

Now I’ve tried the windows troubleshooting thing . . . which did not find a problem. I uninstalled the AMD software I had added (thinking it would have all the best drivers). I have reinstalled Windows. Nothing has helped, so far.

I also just now tried the Recovery environment. Startup repair did not find anything. I didn’t bother with a restore point since its a fairly new box and the sync was never correct. The only thing I haven’t done is reset the PC. I am skeptical that this will do anything . . . as mentioned, its a new box. I could do that . . . I don’t really have any files that are local only but I’d rather not have to reinstall all my apps (reset options do not seem it include keeping apps . . . just keeping files).

Post 7 and 8 of this thread is not visible for some reason. In any case, the driver file you link appears to be just the AMD adrenaline software, not a library of drivers. I did follow the instructions you gave. however, when I removed a device from the Device Manager, Windows seemed to automatically re-install it. When I tried to update the driver and opt to look in the unzipped version of the directory you linked, Windows just said the best driver was already loaded. Am I supposed to install the Adrenaline software? I had already tried that but it did not solve the issue. It could be that I didn’t do it correctly.

One thing that is odd is that there is an Other Devices section with one device, ‘Audio Controller’ that doesn’t have a driver and Windows cant find one.

I tried using an external sound card (USB dongle) . . . same issue. Seems like the latency can be .3 seconds or .8 seconds. Here are my current audio drivers . . .

I have not yet tried reinstalling from scratch. I am avoiding that because I’d rather not have to reinstall all my apps. I don’t save anything locally, so that’s not an issue. Bios version is FP655U509 . . .

You can make a backup of all your software data before attempting to reinstall the system. That way you don’t lose data.

Updating this . . . I was resolved to reinstall Windows and started the 9.9 Gb download . . . this is not my main rig so I had just been avoiding using the BeeLink to play videos, but it still bugged me and I wanted to fix it . . . decided to check the sync one more time. It is perfect! I am without words . . . I did change my output device (from a Amazon Tap using aux in to a set of Bose companion speakers) . . . but, I switched back temporarily to see, somehow, if the Tap was delaying the audio for some reason. But, timing was perfect on the Tap as well. I have no idea what happened to resolve this . . . unless there was an update that fixed this or triggered some kind of re-calibration. I am 1000% the timing was off (based on observation and running sync-check videos). Hopefully this is fixed permanently.

Thanks for responding, @support6 Wendy, but, in case I wasn’t clear, its fixed. I have no idea how. It must have been fixed in a Windows update somehow. I had tried everything but reinstalling the system and nothing had worked.
