Hi all,

Just writing an informative post about a missing Microsoft Pluton driver for anyone using Windows 10.

Microsoft Pluton is currently supported on devices with AMD Ryzen® 6000, 7000, 8000 and Windows 11, version 22H2 and later.

Can I please request this information is passed to the Beelink development team to create a BIOS option on the SER8, allowing Pluton to be Enabled/Disabled?

I am using Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021, which is supported until 2027.

The BIOS option for disabling Microsoft Pluton would be very helpful.

I would like to use Windows 10 LTSC (support until 2029) on my new SER8 8745 HS.

Windows 10 finds two unknown devices. One is this Pluton processor, for which there are no Win10 drivers and which can be disabled in other systems in the BIOS.

      No, I don’t want Windows 11.

Windows 10 LTSC 1809 is a sleek enterprise version of Windows without all the stuff I don’t want in an operating system.

I don’t want a forced Microsoft account, no telemetry, no adverts in the OS, no Appstore, no Cortana/Copilot/Recall crap, no bloatware, no MacOS GUI copy and no OS updates and app installations without my consent.

The Ser8 works great with Win10 LTSC. Only the unknown device in the device manager, the useless Pluton processor, is bothering me.

If Pluton could be switched off in the BIOS (as in systems from other manufacturers). This would help everyone who does not want to use Windows 11. It would not only be good for Windows 10, but also for Linux. This option would greatly expand the possible uses of the Ser8.

I am seriously interested in buying this mini pc, provided I can use Windows 10, how does this missing Microsoft Pluton driver affect the normal use of Windows 10 ?

        Hello there,

You can check in the Task Manager to see if you can turn off the Microsoft Pluton driver. If so, it will not affect your use of Windows10.

        Have a nice day!

pixel I’m using Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 with the SER8, the only downside is the visual of “Unknown Device” within Device Manager. Otherwise usability and performance is unaffected. As Serli noted, most manufacturers supply a BIOS option to disable this for users not using Windows 11 so it would be great if Beelink can also work on a new BIOS option for us users.

Australii How high is your CPU utilisation when idle? On my system (SER8 with 8745HS running Windows 10 LTSC) it never goes below 5%, which is far too high.

Doing some research, I suspect that the “unknown device” aka Pluton processor is not just a cosmetic issue on Windows 10 after all.
The useless device with no driver is causing massive pointless interupts and processor load.

Please shut off unnecessary startups or background softwares , it would be much better.

support4 There is no unnecessary autostart and background software. The system is completely freshly installed for testing purposes.
Both with the drivers provided by Beelink and with the latest drivers directly from AMD, Realtek and Intel, there is the problem that ‘system’ (ntoskrnl.exe) generates an abnormally high CPU load.

              powercfg /energy
reports, among other things, that a supported device that increases power consumption:
              ACPI\MSFT0200\1

This is the mentioned Pluton processor. Please integrate the option in the BIOS to switch it off.

                Serli Hi there
What s your BIOS version ?
Please send us a picture of SN number and BIOS version .
So we would be able to know whether it is latest BIOS and send you files accordingly.

Microsoft has a null driver for the Pluton processor under Win10. Switching it off in the BIOS would be nicer, but this way you no longer have an unknown device in the device manager:

                  AMD - SecurityDevices - 1.0.0.2

                  Hi Serli,
Thank you for posting a follow up about the missing Pluton driver, it’s very much appreciated.

Just to clarify for anyone else who ends up finding this thread. I installed the 1.0.0.0 version as it matched the HardwareID for my model.
