Imposible to install drivers for SER8 8754HS AMD Radeon 780M Graphic card

So I have a SER8 8745HS and I have a big problem with the Radeon 780M in Windows 11. I cannot make it work or install the drivers.

Doesn’t matter what I do, it doesn’t work. I installed AMD drivers and at the end I got a message from AMD software telling that even though the installation was successful, windows reported a problem with the device. This is the device in Device Manager:

You see here error 43 but I also saw error 31.

Before I tried to update the driver the device showed up as deactivated.

Can anybody help?

After investigating:
I installed 96 GB Ram in the Minipc, it recognise them all in Windows.
However, when both of them are installed, the Graphic card fails to initialise (and it shows that weird error in the Windows Device Manager). Doesn’t matter which of the modules is removed, so that means that no module itself is broke, as I can remove any of them for the Windows to be able to start the driver of the Radeon 780M.

Doesn’t make any sense… In the webpage I read that even till 256GB are supported. If the problem were the amount, not even windows would have booted.

The memory are Crucial 5600MT 46CL if I am not wrong.

Anybody can help ?

I installed back the memory kit that came with the computer (32GB Ram) and after manually enabling the graphic driver it worked! However if it boots into windows, it is clear that the issue is not the 96Gb Ram, I think.

Would it be a Bios issue?

Hello there，

If you uninstall the graphic driver ,and you still encounter the timeout issue, please disable the windows update. To disable the Windows Update service in Services Manager, please follow the steps below: Press Windows key+R.Type services.msc,then hit Enter.Search for Windows Update. Right-click on Windows Update, then select Properties. Under General tab, set the Startup type to Disabled. Click Stop.Click Apply, and then click OK.

Then click Recovery tab–First failure choose take no actions, second failure choose take no actions, subsequent failures choose take no actions.

support10 Hi, thanks for your reply but I don’t know what you mean by timeout. I do have a timeout issue in which the driver fails to load but I did not mention it in the post, did I?

Also I don’t see how your request could solve my issue. What is the recovery tab? I’m totally lost with this post.

What I did:
I used AMD cleanup to remove the driver and then installed it again. Didn’t work

Why do the 780M Graphic device works with the original 32Gb but not with the expanded 96GB ?

Interesting. I’m having the same issues in Win11. I have also upgraded my RAM to 96 GB.

I have no problems whatsoever with Linux, though ( which is my mainly driver anyway)
