SER8 8745HS BIOS + Fan Speeds

Hello, I just received a new SER8 8745HS and would like the latest available BIOS.

The fans are constantly on at full speed, and the temperature reading is definitely not correct. The bios says the system temperature1-3 is +255ºC (which is clearly not true). lm-sensors on linux says the temps are actually 23.9ºC, much more believable.

Any help getting these fans to not constantly be on at full speed would be great.

Also, my BIOS settings are the defaults. I haven’t modified anything.

I did remove the Windows install and am running Debian 12, if that matters.

I wonder if re-uploading this file would help? the build date in the picture is 10/23/2024, the file name suggests 10/24/2024

This doesn’t help at all. If the system temperature says it is at 255ºC the fans will constantly be on full.

The computer is definitely not at that temperature. If it were, it would catch on fire and melt…

It’s exactly as you write - a value that makes no sense.
So either a manufacturing defect or a software error.
Hence the idea (stupid but…) to over-install FW.

The temperature in the BIOS is not showned correctly. Please use other software to check the CPU temperature.
