This is not a new problem apparently but I still can’t find a working solution anywhere. I have a SER5-PRO Mini PC, AMD Ryzen 7 5850U since November 23. The OS is Linux Mint and I have been very happy with it. Sound output has been fine. I have recently subscribed to an online language course and connected a Logitech H111 headset with boom mike via the 3,5 mm input. Sound output is fine but the microphone does not work at all. The jack is CTIA as needed. All audio drivers are showing up in settings as well as in Audacity. This Forum shows that there is a problem that needs to be sorted. Is it BIOS related, I don’t know. Sorry, it’s a 5800H, not 5850U

It’s a brand new logitech headset with boom mike. The driver and HD audio controller are correctly set and not muted. Not quite sure what the AirPods firmware is needed for. OS is Linux Mint 21.3.

Audacity shows the correct RealTek drivers but does not detect the microphone. All drivers are up to date according to Driver Manager. BIOS version is in my first message: BIOS version 5800H602 Build date 06/15/2023 Serial number D58003JH4535

BIOS has been successfully updated but that hasn’t solved the microphone issue.

muttley Hi there. if you use microphone in windows , will it work? . just to make sure the port and your micro are both fine .

This is a Linux only PC. Mic does work on a separate Windows laptop. No worries, I am going to convert it to USB and see if that helps.

Doesn’t need a driver, only to configure the headphone (front) to the rear mic input source.
