Hi thanks for your input/question. I assume you mean “what happens if you only add the contents of the shell file folder to the root directory on the USB”
So, I did just that and restarted the computer. upon boot the 07 bios updated automatically runs. If I type flash and hit the tab then enter buttons the 07 bios update runs again with no EC flash … same as before.
I do not have the contents of the EFI folder nor the contents of the BOOT folder within the EFI folder in the root directory of the USB drive. Based on the Tutorial, I think this correct as it shows the EFI folder in the root directory.
For some reason there does not seem to be anything that kicks off an EC flash, just the BIOS (or EUFI). The WIN folder has a FLASH.CMD file in it but this will not run and is not recognized as an executable like FLASH.NSH.

Which portion of the Shell or Win folders are supposed to run the EC update? Currently FLASH.NSH only seems to run the bios update.
