My ser 7 pro turns on immediately after switching off, even if I boot from live-usb with linux, so this is not an OS issue. Also I load bios defaults from bios, clear cmos with button on front panel - it didn’t help.
BIOS version is SER7PROP5C8V38
EC version 6.7.0.0.5
I can turn off my pc only with long press on power button.
Please help!

    Hello Fragster,

    Sorry for the trouble.
Don’t worry, the PC has one-year warranty. Please send us a picture of SN on the bottom of the PC and a picture of the purchase record.

    Here are some potential solutions:
Here are the detailed steps for CLR CMOS: First, Please turn off the PC , unplug the power supply, and press the CMOS button (if no CMOS button, please put the pin in the CMOS pinhole and press it ) for about 10 seconds , restart the PC after ten minutes. Here is the tutorial https://mega.nz/file/XypwTISY#DVT0BsjOgiPkZ-drQaj88JH9Z7f7qpKGP2E3nMHW8ms or https://url.bee-link.cn/5FdW  If the problem persists, please try other solutions:

    1.Disable Fast Startup

In Control Panel, click the Power Options. Select the Choose what the power buttons do. Uncheck the “Turn on fast startup.”, click save changes.

    2.Disable Automatic Restart

One of the best solutions to fix the sudden restart error is to switch off the Automatic Restart option. This solution is a temporary solution, though.

When you disable the automatic restart feature, it blocks the operating system from rebooting. However, if misused, that can harm system functions more than fix the issue, so proceed with the steps carefully on Windows 11.

Step 1: Open the Settings menu > System > About.

Step 2: Choose Related Links and tap on Advanced System Settings.

Step 3: Under the System Properties sections, go to Advanced > Startup and Recovery > Settings.

Step 4: Then, uncheck the Automatically restart choice under System Failure and press OK.

    3.Reconfigure Network Adapter.

Right click start—device manager–network adapter–wireless/WiFi–properties–power management–Disable the option about allowing the device to access the computer system wakeup. Press OK.

    Best regards!

      here is S/N: Image description

This started in the last summer, but it didn’t bother me much before, so I didn’t figure it out, I just left the computer on.. Now I have to move my computer from place to place quite often and this malfunction is starting to bother me.

Before writing a message I already tried resetting CMOS and it didn’t help.
Also it keeps rebooting even if I boot from live usb so I don’t think it’s an OS issue. I’ll try to change the OS settings later this evening, but I don’t think it will help.

Did you ever resolve the problem? The same thing is happening to my SER8. What worked for you?
        Thanks

Topanga Did you ever resolve the problem? The same thing is happening to my SER8. What worked for you?

Nothing helped. I turn it off by long pressing on the power button.

Sorry to hear that. I’m in the same boat. The only thing that works for me too is a long press on the power button. If I come up with a solution I’ll give you a heads up.

            Fragster
Fragster, I got my SER8 working again! Finally, it shuts down and stays off (for now at least). It used to come back on after 1 minute off.
Anyway, in BIOS I clicked on Restore Defaults and saved it.
There were a few problems at first: I had to enter my Bitlocker Key when I re-started windows (have this handy), I had sign in to my Microsoft Account to create a new PIN (I’m not using a local acct), and most importantly, I found that Secure Boot was disabled. I consider this very unsecure.
So, I went back into the BIOS and enabled Secure Boot (went to Custom, then Standard). Now it seems to work fine. Keeping fingers crossed…
Sorry if my instructions aren’t complete and clear. I’m just going by memory. Also, my BIOS may be a bit different than yours.
            Good luck!
            -Jack
