Hi!
I’m testing out Linux Mint on my GTi 14 after upgrading to the latest BIOS version. Everything seems to work fine so far… except for the fingerprint reader, which is also present in other Beelink mini PCs.
I followed the steps in this forum thread and determined that:
- The USB ID of the fingerprint reader is
1c7a:0577
, and it’s labelled as LighTuning Technology Inc. Fingerprint Sensor
.
- It is NOT listed in the
libfprint
compatibility list.
- Instead, it is listed in the unsupported devices list (
1c7a: Egistec
).
- Additional efforts and threads can be found in many places. E.g.: one, two, three.
- However, it seems that without official support, efforts to reverse-engineer the sensor are extremely difficult, and it won’t be possible to use it on Linux.
Is there any chance that Beelink can help support these efforts to produce a working Linux driver?
Thanks!
