Hi there,
It can work with 2.5″ HDD/SSD(H=7MM).
The SATA cable is inside.
The one you are looking at is a good one.

I have a similar question - looking for a good and compatible 2.5 inch SATA SSD HD.
So one to add into open slot under the cover.
What connector and other specification should I be alert on so I will buy a compatible and fitting one?
Will e.g. “Western Digital 1TB WD Blue SA510 SATA Internal Solid State Drive SSD - SATA III 6 Gb/s, 2.5”/7mm, Up to 560 MB/s - WDS100T3B0A“ be a working /good choice (see ”this link")

I ordered the 1TB disk and expected it could be added in bottom cover. But no 2.5″ slot unfortunately.
But what I do see is M.2 PCIe 3.0 ×1
So should I have ordered different SSD? Please help @support1
So do I now have non-usable SATA disk :-(

Is this a usable choice “Crucial P5 2TB 3D NAND NVMe Internal Gaming SSD, up to 3400MB/s - CT2000P5SSD8”?

DevArtist Hi there, for the new version of MINI S12 PRO, it doesn’t have the 2.5‘ SATA SSD slot. So if you want to expand the storage, you need to buy an NVME SSD on the second slot.
You can buy the SSD Crucial P5, but the speed will still be PCIe 3.0 ×1.

Thanks for the answer @support1 - and a pity that I assumed I had the version with 2.5‘ SATA SSD slot. My mistake.
For the 2nd slot I understand that the speed is limited to PCIe 3.0 ×1
My plan is buy a new larger NVME SSD for 1st slot
      I have 3 questions:

Q1 - I understood that can be up to max 2 TB - is that correct?

Q2 - Can I maybe then use current SSD (now in slot #1) and use it in slot #2 (still knowing of speed limit)?

Q3 - Is there a PDF of that new version MINI S12 PRO “motherboard”?

        DevArtist Hi there,

        1. Yes, you can upgrade the SSD to 2TB each slot.
2.For the current SSD , we recommend you to keep it on the first slot. The first slot is ususally for the system SSD.
3.Sorry, we don’t have the FDF.

        Thanks for the answer @support1
Meanwhile I have removed original SSD and placed my 2TB NVMe SSD in first slot and installed Proxmox.
This works fine - no problems seen. Proxmox detected the 2TB for usage.

Now my follow- up question still is:
Q: Can I add the original 512GB SSD side-by-side (so will it work to have 2TB in first slot#0 and 512Gb in second slot #1)?
Reason is that I want to use this 512GB pure as extra data storage for Proxmox

DevArtist Hi there, could you please send us pictures of both side of the original SSD?

Please find attached / uploaded photos of front and back of original 512MB SSD

DevArtist Hi there, your original SSD is SATA , so it cannot be install on the second slot. Because the second slot is peie 3.0*1, it can only be installed with NVME SSD.

Thanks for the answers and adequate support.
From my point of view the topic can be considered as “closed” 🔐

                  DevArtist Hello there ,
