I located the firmware for my system, I install it but it did NOT fix my issues with Ubuntu Desktop 25.

The system hangs at boot most of the time, or it will hang after I log into the OS (which I finally managed to get installed).

I have Reset BIOS and tried a few other suggestions I found in this forum, with no luck.

If this does not work, I will need to send it back for refund.

Please send us a picture of SN number and BIOS version .

So we would be able to know whether it is latest BIOS and send you files accordingly.

Here`s how to check your BIOS version:

Prese : Win + R ,
Type : msinfo32
Send us the screen.

I have already installed Ubuntu Desktop 25.02. There is no way for me to follow your instructions.

I have installed the latest firmware version provided in your BIOS section for this model.

As I posted before:

BIOS: SEi14T203
SERIAL: B185H5DG50047

I have reset the BIOS with no joy.

I think a refund is what I want. If you can not satisfy that, I will be glad to write/record a review on my social platforms.

This is an obvious problem with your hardware as stated in other forum posts.

We suspect the RAM or SSD issue . and would like to replace spare parts for you within warranty .
So we would need to confirm about it by doing some test.

Look, I have already had issues with another systems and had to spend $40 US to send it to your warehouse here in the states. Becuase you refused to let me use USPS. Which would have been signifigantly cheaper. Only for you to send it back to me using USPS.

The system was not doing this with Windows OS prior to me switching to Ubuntu Desktop.

So, if you want to send me a FedEx lable to send it back for warranty repair. Let’s go! Otherwise, send me some RAM and a NVME to swap and we can test it.

I do not think I am being unreasonable, considering the problems I have had with 2 of your systems now.

What I mean is if you can use the working SSD to test at first to confirm the specific problem .

The SSD that is in the device is working.
I can load Windows 11 back on the device and it runs fine. I only have this anomoly when I try to load any Linux OS. Ubuntu, RHEL, Proxmox, etc..

You guys are cracking me up.. Takes 24-48 hours to respond.. dragging that warranty out. As I stated before;

Yes, I have tried every damn OS I can get my hands on. Most of the time it will not even boot from the USB device and goes into a reboot loop.

This seems to be a firmware issue. On both versions of the firmware I have tried. I had this issue.

So, it would seem like it is a harware/fireware failure. And waiting a month or two for you to test this system, only to send me a new one is a painful option. The last time I sent a system back for a onboard power supply failure, it took MONTHS to get it back and you shipped me a new unit. Which should have just taken a day or two at the most.

Have YOU tested installing Ubuntu or any other Linux Distro on these systems. Why are you letting your user base suffor like this? FIX THE FIRMWARE. :)

As a side note. i can get Ubuntu 25.10 Desktop to run for maybe 30 mins or so.. ’sometimes".. it will hang at boot 80% of the time. This is installed on the NVME drive. But after about 30 mins or so it hangs. Requires reboot. It can sleep, and wake within this time with no issues.

Another user posted the same issues with Ubuntu 24.04 and you sent him firmware to fix it. Can you send me that firmware?

I have downloaded it and installed it. So far, it is running without issues. I will know more in 30-60 mins, if it freezes during normal browser use.

Also, the instructions were not needed. The system identified the USB drive and firmware and begin installing firmware instantly.

I will report how things go.

VIOLA!! The firmware (205) has fixed my issues. I have been running this for almost 20 hours now, without any issues. I have been able to install nvidia drivers and get a eGPU unit working as well. No hiccups. So far!!

Thanks for taking time to hear me and fix the issues. I will let you know in another week, how things are going.

Had a slight hiccup with the KDE Desktop, but now have that worked out as well.
