Our technical team has confirmed that this issue stems from compatibility conflicts between the newly updated Windows/AMD drivers and the factory-default chipset driver of SER8. Temporary Solution If your device is malfunctioning, please roll back the chipset driver to the original factory version to restore normal operation. To prevent the issue from recurring, please refrain from updating Windows and official AMD drivers temporarily. Option 1: Uninstall problematic drivers and reinstall factory drivers This solution fixes the issue without reinstalling the system. Perform a forced hard shutdown three times in a row: While the Windows boot logo is on screen, press and hold the power button. On the fourth startup, Windows will automatically launch Automatic Repair. Follow the path: Advanced options → Troubleshoot → Advanced options → Startup Settings → Restart. After rebooting, press 4 to enter Safe Mode. In Safe Mode, right-click the Start menu and select Installed Apps. Search for AMD Chipset Software and uninstall it per the on-screen instructions. Is this update compatible with both the SER8 8845HS and the SER8 8745HS? I’d hate to turn one of my PCs into a paperweight just because the BIOS might not be the right one after all. I actually have an 8845 and an 8745 in use. That’s why I’m asking specifically. Thanks.

So it’s 100% safe now to use both AMD Video and Chipset updated drivers directly from AMD web site? And I don’t have to use the much older AMD drivers supplied by Beelink anymore? And what are the chances this issue happens again in the future?

Yeah we’d like to know if this BIOS version is 100% stable, I personally can’t go through the same trouble again! I think you heard enough from other customers as well: we use SER8 on some mission critical applications and chances for another Windows keep crashing is totally unacceptable! For now I can live with rolling back GPIO2 driver, but like others I want to have a real fix which will work with AMD future driver updates. PLEASE SHARE SOME INFO ABOUT THIS BIOS UPDATE AND HOW STABLE IT IS SO WE WILL HAVE CONFIDENCE TO PROCEED. THANKS!

I will go ahead and update to the new bios and then also the new AMD video and chipset drivers. I am very happy to hear that your engineering team will be keeping track of any compatibility issues with newer AMD drivers and promptly optimize and release revised BIOS patches. But I guess it’s also a very good idea when AMD releases new driver updates to wait at least a week or so to make sure the updated AMD drivers are safe to install. Thank You Beelink 😃👍

Hi! I started having the problem a few days ago. I’ve been reading a previous post and then this post, I applied the following steps but I’m still having the issue:

Cleared CMOS
Restored WIndows to a previous restore point
Removed all AMD drivers (GPU, GPIO, etc…)
Installed the new BIOS indicated in this thread
Disable the AMD Graphics Device

At this moment the Beelink SER8 8745HS is rebooting every few minutes (5 or so), and sometimes even reboots again while in the loading screen. I tried to install the original Beelink drivers but it does not finish as the machine reboots too soon.

I’m quite frustrated by this, I bought the machine a month and a half ago as my main work machine.

Can you help me please?

robercano As a follow up, I tried to reinstall Windows and I’m not able to. Same reboots happening all the time. The unit was fine until a few days ago.

Dex71 I had the same issue and my problem was that I was trying to extract the BIOS contents firectly to the flash drive, which contains the folder name itself, and then the files. Unzip it locally in a folder and then copy the files over to the flash drive. I hope this helps.

Beelink CS-George Yes, I’ve actually tried 3 times to do this, just in case. The issue keeps happening. The unit has been working mostly fine until now. I had a couple reboots due to high temperature, but it was working fine since 3 weeks ago. The reboots started to be consistent after I tried to uninstall all AMD software. Sometimes it does reboot while on the splash screen. This never happened before.

Just as context, I was an embedded engineer for a long time workign with Linux based set-top-boxes, so I’m used to deal with low level updates.

I’m trying to restore Windows now but it keeps rebooting mid-restoration. It was already rebooting mid boot-up before I attempted to re-install Windows, sometimes reaching Windows and rebooting after 5 minutes, sometimes rebooting at the boot screen.

I feel my unit now is worse than before, but also I’m not sure what happened. After installing the BIOS the first time I still had the issue but I could at least boot into Windows for a few minutes. However the new BIOS never resolved the problem.

I’ve confirmed that I have a Beelink SER8 AMD Ryzen™ 7 8745HS per my purchase e-mail.

I can send you my serial on a PM if you need it.

Does the BIOS update preserve your existing BIOS configuration, or does it reset everything to factory defaults?
