Dear Valued Customers, We have received reports that Beelink SER8 mini PCs may experience system freezes, stuttering or random reboots after updating Windows OS or the latest official AMD drivers. Our technical team has confirmed that this issue stems from compatibility conflicts between the newly updated Windows/AMD drivers and the factory-default chipset driver of SER8. Temporary Solution If your device is malfunctioning, please roll back the chipset driver to the original factory version to restore normal operation. To prevent the issue from recurring, please refrain from updating Windows and official AMD drivers temporarily. Option 1: Uninstall problematic drivers and reinstall factory drivers This solution fixes the issue without reinstalling the system. Perform a forced hard shutdown three times in a row: While the Windows boot logo is on screen, press and hold the power button. On the fourth startup, Windows will automatically launch Automatic Repair. Follow the path: Advanced options → Troubleshoot → Advanced options → Startup Settings → Restart. After rebooting, press 4 to enter Safe Mode. In Safe Mode, right-click the Start menu and select Installed Apps. Search for AMD Chipset Software and uninstall it per the on-screen instructions. Open Device Manager and uninstall the graphics driver as well. Restart your device and verify normal boot-up. Is this update compatible with both the SER8 8845HS and the SER8 8745HS? I’d hate to turn one of my PCs into a paperweight just because the BIOS might not be the right one after all. I actually have an 8845 and an 8745 in use. That’s why I’m asking specifically. Thanks.

So it’s 100% safe now to use both AMD Video and Chipset updated drivers directly from AMD web site? And I don’t have to use the much older AMD drivers supplied by Beelink anymore? And what are the chances this issue happens again in the future?

Yeah we’d like to know if this BIOS version is 100% stable, I personally can’t go through the same trouble again! I think you heard enough from other customers as well: we use SER8 on some mission critical applications and chances for another Windows keep crashing is totally unacceptable! For now I can live with rolling back GPIO2 driver, but like others I want to have a real fix which will work with AMD future driver updates. PLEASE SHARE SOME INFO ABOUT THIS BIOS UPDATE AND HOW STABLE IT IS SO WE WILL HAVE CONFIDENCE TO PROCEED. THANKS!

I will go ahead and update to the new bios and then also the new AMD video and chipset drivers. I am very happy to hear that your engineering team will be keeping track of any compatibility issues with newer AMD drivers and promptly optimize and release revised BIOS patches. But I guess it’s also a very good idea when AMD releases new driver updates to wait at least a week or so to make sure the updated AMD drivers are safe to install. Thank You Beelink 😃👍

My SER8’s BIOS was still the same as when I bought it in June 2024, and the version was V23.
I applied HPT_8xxx_SER8_V035_P8C0M0C15_16_BL_20260603 and updated the drivers using Windows Update and AMD Install Manager, and so far it’s been working stably.

I also updated BIOS to HPT_8xxx_SER8_V035_P8C0M0C15_16_BL_20260603, then let AMD downloader manager to update both GPU and chipset drivers to latest version. So far so good. Cross my fingers hoping it will stay stable like before, and thanks Beelink for resolving this issue in timely manner.
But I’m still curious about what happened this time. I googled AMD chipset driver/DPC violation error but couldn’t find any recent incidents, except for Beelink SER8. Honestly I haven’t experienced major Windows crash issue that requires BIOS update in the past. Can Beelink elaborate a bit on root cause and fix, so we know this most likely will not happen again?
