Hi - I just recently got a new SER8 device, got everything up and running, have not touched or modified anything with the BIOS.

I downloaded Steam > Rust, then loading the game for the first time, I lowered all the settings to Max Low, as it was the first time and I wanted to begin “messing” with the in-game settings little by little. When I loaded into a Game, I experienced the following:

  1. In-Game Audio was “Choppy” or “Stuttering”.
  2. The Game itself would “freeze” sometimes, while maintaining 60 FPS and 20 MS.
  3. After maybe 10 minutes of the game running the SER8 automatically rebooted itself!

I waited for it to come back up, opened Steam > Rust > Loaded into a Server and BOOM! automatically rebooted itself again.

Rust is not a high-demanding game, much less with all Max Low settings.

Any advice or tips on what I need to change on the configurations to avoid the SER8 from rebooting itself constantly? I did “setup” the AMD Adrenaline for “Best Performance”, but that’s about all the “configurations” that I’ve done outside the game.

These are the Windows Application Error Logs.

Hello
Here are some potential solutions:

①Please take out the RAM ,please clean the contacts of the RAM with a rubber. Here is the tutorial https://mega.nz/file/XqZX0TIR#_DtO2oa4aRP4bWtvxgKLj4QGhBpQ959cg5U3Yw4u1Cc or https://url.bee-link.cn/AzzB

②Please take out one RAM and leave the other one in it to test if the RAM is defective or not. You can also use Memtest software to test the RAM.

3.Please change another power supply.

4.Overheating. If your PC is overheating, please check if the fan spins. You can also turn off the turbo boost. Go to control panel —power option—change to High performance— change plan setting—advanced setting —processor power management— change both 100% to 99% , click save.

5.Update graphics driver: Please uninstall the graphic driver in the device manager and install the new one. this is the driver:https://url.bee-link.cn/xv1s

Hi Support - Below are the actions taken:

    1. Cleaned both RAM Modules, assembled again, and tested Games (Rust, League of Legends, Fornite) and I am still seeing major frame drops, game freezes up, audio is “stuttering”.
    2. Removed and Tested each RAM Module individually:

For the first Module (Bottom) see picture: Image description - I did not get any issues or errors.

For the second Module (Top) see picture: Image description and Video: https://we.tl/t-0FjqlWI9dV - While conducting the test, the whole computer frozen, and remained frozen for more than 15 minutes, before I had to shut it down forcefully by pressing the power button.

    With these results:

    • What does this mean? Is this a faulty RAM Module?
    • If this is a faulty RAM what is the next step?
    • Do I need to continue with changing Power Supply, Disabling Turbo Boost, and Uninstalling Graphics Driver?

Further into the actions taken - I then took the ‘Bottom’ DDR Card and placed it on the ‘Top’ Module, and ran a MemTest and it ran without any problems.

Then I took the ‘Top’ DDR Card and placed it on the ‘Bottom’ Module, and to my surprise the Computer froze again. Seems like the actual DDR Card is defective?

Thank you - I have submitted an Email to request the Replacement RAM Card.

    Hi,

I set up an ‘Administrator Password’ on the BIOS, as it is my preference. However, unlike many other devices when you set an Administrator Password it only “asks” for it when you attempt to enter the BIOS, but if you do not try to enter BIOS then the machine shouldn’t ask for the Password.

On the SER8, for some reason, every time I turn on the computer it is asking for the Administrator Password even though I do not attempt to open the BIOS. Why is this happening? And how do I remove this “condition” of the Administrator Password being asked every time the computer turns on?

How can I reset this or remove this, maybe remove Administrator Password all together? I however, do not want to factory reset or do any action that may cause any data, programs, or files that I have save on Windows to be deleted.

This is what I’ve tried already, but with no success:

    1. Pressing the CLR CMOS button on the front of the device, while the device was Off and Disconnected.
    2. Entering BIOS > Security and “Restoring Defaults”.

① you could try to unplug the bios battery for 1-2 hours and then plug it back to see if that could work, thanks ② go to BIOS, change the admin password to non, when you set the new password, just press enter key ,no need to input the numbers or letters.

Hi Support - Thank you the second step cleared/removed the Administrator Password.

    3 months later

We are having the EXACT same issues with a few Ser8 machines we just purchased. Updated the BIOS, reset BIOS settings/CMOS, updated all drivers. After all the fixes, the random freezes and reboots have become worse. There is something fundamentally wrong with the MB, memory, SSD, BIOS or OS. Not sure which yet - but really do not want to spend any more time on these flaky, buggy machines. We have already wasted dozens of hours trying to troubleshoot and fix.
