Hi,

Like the title suggests, I have an issue with the Mini PC I bought for someone.

The temperature won’t go below 91°C.

I already tried to :

  • Change the thermal paste
  • Use the recommended power management mode (standard) with cpu/min 80% and cpu/max 99%
  • Update the APU Only sPPT Limit from 54000 to 45000 inside the BIOS under Smartshift Control
  • Update drivers

The device itself is very hot and doesn’t cool itself…
I can hear the fan when it reach 92°C but it never goes under 90°C

Hopefully someone have a suggestion/idea to fix this because I am seriously thinking about using something else.

Regards.

Here are some potential solutions:
①Check the cooling system: Ensure that the fans inside the PC are functioning properly. Make sure they are spinning freely and not obstructed. If the fan is not spinning , it need to be replaced.

②Adjust power settings: Adjust the power settings on your PC to optimize performance and reduce heat generation. Lowering the maximum processor state or using power-saving modes can help.Go to control panel —power option—change to High performance— change plan setting—advanced setting —processor power management— change both 100% to 99% , click save.

③You can try using an external fan to cool your computer.

④Please send us a picture of SN number and BIOS version.
So we would be able to know whether it is latest BIOS and send you files accordingly.

Hi and thanks you for your answer.

① Both fans are spinning, I can hear them when the temperature reach 92°C but then it stays at this temperature, it barely goes down.

② I was using the standard plan with cpu/min 80% and cpu/max 99%. Would you recommend using the high performance mode ? Wouldn’t increasing both values to 99% result in more temperatures ?

③ I would prefer to not go that way but it sounds like I will not have the choice.

    ④ S/N : D58003IG60458 ; BIOS VERSION: 5800H506

I am currently using a monitor stand to enhance the airflow. Would you recommend removing the bottom plate?

    Thanks you very much.

    Regards.

      [unknown] Hello,
      a) It has been bought brand new 1 / 1,5 years ago.
      b) Could be, I am waiting for the link to try to update it (somehow I can’t access the download center, probably an issue from my side)
      c) I honestly don’t think I did any mistake when reassembling the device. I did disassembly to replace the thermal paste because I had the heating issue in the first place.
      Thanks for your feedback !!
