I have a Beelink Mini S 8GB RAM and 500GB HD (MINISV1-A-8256SDOW64PRO-A). Unfortunately it’s no longer under warranty but I’d really appreciate some guidance on the problem it’s been having: Everything is working perfectly (with Windows10 or Linux) except when I try to reboot or switch it on before it has completely cooled down, which usually takes about 5 minutes. If I try, it lights up the blue power LED, turns the cooling fan but doesn’t show any video. If I don’t switch it off, it stays in this state permanently. And when it’s like this, if I try to switch it off using the power button, it switches off the blue LED, stops the fan and seconds later switches on the LED again and turns the fan, but it’s still on the black screen. If I insist on switching it off using the button, it repeats the behaviour: it restarts and remains on the black screen. Then I have to remove the power supply and wait for it to cool down. Then it restarts normally. What I’ve already done: Changed the thermal paste on the processor Cleaned the RAM contacts Removed the glue residue left by the backup battery that was stuck to the motherboard Checked the voltage of the backup battery (OK) Thoroughly sanitised the motherboard with isopropyl alcohol Checked and reset the BIOS configuration ((JTKT001 ×64 - 04/12/2022) via the CMOS reset button (10sec. without energy). Changed the monitor I’ve tried booting with ethernet, without connecting peripherals (keyboard, mouse) What I’m thinking of doing: ?Reinstall the BIOS ?Reflow the processor ?Check the capacitors (this will be a bit difficult as the board will have cooled down by the time I remove it). But I’d be very grateful if anyone could give me some advice.

If your PC is overheating, please check if the fan spins. You can also turn off the turbo boost. Adjust power settings: Adjust the power settings on your PC to optimize performance and reduce heat generation. Lowering the maximum processor state or using power-saving modes can help.Go to control panel —power option—change to High performance— change plan setting—advanced setting —processor power management— change both 100% to 99% , click save.

Fortunately, it is not overheating. I have been monitoring the CPU’s operating temperature and it is around 60 degrees Celsius. The FAN is working properly. I am using Windows 11 as my operating system, which apparently does not stress the CPU. So it should not be an overheating problem. But as strange as it may seem, after turning off the system, the video does not load while the temperature goes down (that’s what I believe) because I have to wait about 5 to 10 minutes. Then it starts up normally and is able to work for hours and hours without any problems. I can’t understand what is happening. Could there be an overheating sensor in the CPU that is not working properly?

The RAM is working properly. I used memtest and the result is that it is OK. BIOS was already configured with Fast Boot.

As everything suggests that the problem is related to the temperature of the cpu or gpu, I decided to experiment. I improvised by fitting an extra fan blowing air into the unit and sealing the other inlets to force the air through the cpu/gpu vent. As a result, I managed to bring the working temperature, which I’m monitoring via the Core Temp application, down from 60 to around 43 degrees Celsius. But even so, the only change was to shorten the amount of time it takes for it to restart giving video. No restart was possible. It continues to behave in the same way: the fan turns on, the blue LED lights up but the video doesn’t come up. Then you just have to unplug it. But now, with the temperature lower, it’s almost immediately giving video and switching on normally via the button. I only need a few seconds when the unit is unplugged.

But the problem persists. I would appreciate any further suggestions.

Please go to device manager to uninstall the graphic driver and then restart the PC. Check for software conflicts: Uninstall any recently installed software that might be interfering with the system’s startup or video functionality.

I did this and there was no change. I don’t believe it’s a software or driver issue. I also installed some Linux distros to see if it changed the behavior. I installed Lubuntu, Linux Mint, MX Linux and the behavior is the same. Everything points to a hardware (or BIOS?) issue, especially because when the CPU cools down, the boot is normal. My suspicions continue to be BGA solder on the CPU/GPU, capacitors (or some other component) with values altered by the temperature or some temperature sensor (on the CPU?) providing incorrect readings at boot. I’ve been monitoring it during operation and the readings are normal. Is there anyone who’s an expert in hardware who can give their opinion?

Hi Ago I’m surprised. I thought I was the only owner of a Beelink with such a peculiar defect. So as this is a recurring situation, it would be quite plausible for Beelink to pay special attention to us in order to try to solve our problem and, perhaps, improve the hardware of their new products. I’d even suggest sending my unit in (with a replacement, of course) to be checked out by the factory if that’s the case. Could someone from Beelink support comment on this?

Same issue for my older SEi12. I own two of them one was my LAB proxmox VE and really would be running 24/7. Other one was my work from home workstation (light loads not running 24/7). The main SEi 12 that I ran 24/7 started the shutdown/reboot black screen issue late 2025. Tried various things listed in this post as well. Nothing works but to unplug let sit for a awhile and plug back in.

The other SEi12 is running without issues, so seems to be a failing part of some kind?

It might be a power supply issue. Have you tried replacing the power supply?
You can also try removing and reinserting the CMOS battery.

I have two of the same units. So used the 2nd power supply same issue…
I have in fact replaced the CMOS battery with a new one as well (I first thought that was the issue at start). No change.

I noticed today that I did a shutdown from Windows 11, and then tried a different HDMI port and cable (this one is VGA to HDMI that my intel NUC uses) that when I hit the power button on the SEi nothing happens. I have to press the power button a second time then the LED lights up I hear the CPU fan running but I get the black screen and no POST.

After the 5 minute wait without power connected, the unit turns on via the first press of the power button. No issues at on POST.
to add to my details on tshooting, I replaced NVME with a new stick and installed WIN11 pro fresh and used new DDR4 ram sticks as well for testing.

I am having similar problems across three of these devices (MINISV1-A-8256SD0W64PRO-B). I bought 12V 5A PSUs to see if that would remedy the problem of running for a bit and then blackscreening, crashing, clearing CMOS, waiting 10, and rebooting. I’ve tried the latest BIOS from 11/24 and that has not helped. New CMOS batteries in each machine. CMOS seems to not always save or saves and then looses settings sometimes (no CMOS clearing). Also, unplugging and holding the red power button for 30 s, seems to allow for a reboot occasionally with the system powering up with fan at 100% and then quieting down before posting. RAM reseated and cleaned. Known working RAM used. Different SSD SATA drives tried. When trying to change the fan settings, thermal settings within BIOS, it seems like those are ignored and that fan cooling is on its own trajectory. Limiting power for the CPU to 10w also seems to be ignored. When connected to a watt meter, I am seeing a maximum of 20w. Underneath the 3A rating of the standard PSU. If I stress test the CPU, I may see some throttling (not sure and not what I have set in BIOS) and temps show for the cores at around 78 oC. I have changed out the thermal paste and reseated the heatsink. That provided no real change though the heat sink compound on all three seemed to be stiff and dried out. I can stress test (SilverBench web - Extreme) for a while and then it will eventually blackscreen and not reboot immediately. There is no indication that the CPU is getting too hot but the fan never really goes to 100% even set to do so in BIOS. So…. BIOS programming issue? (I’ve also reflashed the most current numerous times - scary because one does not know if the PC will suddenly shut off during the flash and brick it.) Have you see issues with PMIC in these? I find it interesting that I have three separate PCs with the same problem; however, it might just be all of them may have some sort of hardware failure? Still think this may be BIOS or at least the easier step for support to try. Thoughts , Customer Support at Beelink? Thanks.

After reinstalling the system, will the problem of random device restarts/crashes still occur? Have you tried reinstalling the system on a third device again?

I have reinstalled. I also had the same problem with a Win 10 installation. I installed Ubuntu over the Windows installtion to see if it would be different. Same result. The crash happens suddenly and without any kind of warnings but I have a sense it might be hardware/BIOS related.

Looking at other forum threads, there seemed to be other machines/models that have something similar that happens to them also. Different models/CPUS. Given the serial numbers provided and cross referencing similar issues on other Beelink models, are there commonalities among the models that points to a specific problem? Do they share similar PMICs, BIOS? Are there certain hardware failures you have seen? I am willing to send these into Beelink for troubleshooting, if you like. It may help provide quality improvements for existing models you have if you can find something. Just some thoughts.
