Hello, I have recently gotten a Beelink SER8, and it’s been great. My one issue is that during general use (nothing specific as it can vary from playing games, media viewing, or just web browsing) the display will turn black for 2 seconds, then shortly resume as normal. Initially I believed this to be an issue with my monitor, however after extensive testing and fixes I am begining to reconsider if this is truly the culprit. For reference, I don’t seem to have a way to nominally trigger the issue, so any suggestions or fixes y’all recommend may take at least a couple days of testing before I can confidently determine if it’s been resolved. Below a list of the fixes I have tested up until now which did not work can be found. Both my Desktop and Monitor are connected to the same power strip (which is rated more than sufficient for their power consumption). Their power cables were swapped around a few times to rule out a faulty plug, however I strongly believe this is not the cause, as neither device shuts down completely, indicating no power fluctuations. My monitor supports 4k at 120fps (Dell S2725QC), so in-case the provided cable was insufficient for the data transfer, I have tried and tested others, all of which continue to eventually result in the issue, indicating the cable is not the fault and is in-fact HDMI 2.1. For all future testing, the cable was returned to the one provided along with the monitor. As sugested by AMD, I did a full reinstall of the graphics drivers by first uninstalling any using their dedicated software, then later reinstalling them based on the resources Beelink offer for download from their website. https://dr.bee-link.cn/?dir=uploads%2FSER I have reseated all relevant cables (power and display) within the Desktop and Monitor to ensure they’re connected securely. The monitor has had its settings returned to factory default through use of its on screen display. This also involves disabling auto-select, in-case an additional input was causing the problem, although for clarity nothing else is actually connected. Variable refresh rate was disabled, aswell as AMD Freesync Premium through use of the AMD software (since the monitor supports it) The most recent drivers for the monitor were downloaded from the Dell webpage (much like how the Beelink AMD ones were). I have probably missed a few other steps I’ve gone through, but I hope it’s clear I am trying a whole array of things to fix this. As such I would appreciate and support any advice others may have on the issue. Thank you, Ash

Today I have tried it on two top of the range separate monitors of different brands that I know work perfectly (both running 4k) using different HDMI cables. I have used it with wired and Bluetooth mouse and keyboards. The same problem with all. I have unplugged the other USB devices I had connected (A conferencing device), and same problem. I have tried from different parts of the house (so different power supply outlets). Still the same problem. That said I have used it in my office and laptop and main computer are on there over 10 hours a day with no issues. I have tried it with an alternative usb-c power supply, and the same problem. On my side, I used the device for weeks absolutely fine with no problems in maybe 40 hours. I did change some of the bios settings when it first arrived, but it worked without any problems at all with those settings, and I did not change the graphics memory, and no other settings were changed since. It is windows 11, and I have automatic updates turned on. When the screen goes black it is for about three seconds. I can not track the problem down to a specific action, it may be within a couple of minutes of starting up, or playing a simple low requirement game.

Please repeatedly press delete key as soon as you turn on the PC, go to BIOS.

Please send us a picture of the Main page, we will check if you need to update the BIOS.

May I ask if you have ever tried to connect the machine with a monitor of another brand？

For others who potentially read this to be able to follow along, I am using a Beelink SER8 8745HS, and am currently on Bios Version V.029.P8COM

As for the monitor, I have used other monitors in the past, although this is more so a recent issue. So whilst I am currently testing an older monitor, I can’t be certain if its impacted given the generally random nature of when the issue occurs. However the test monitor should be noted as much lower quality than my main, being only 1080p 60Hz

Apologies for the delay, I have been attempting my own further troubleshoot steps and believe to have found the root cause of the problem.

Specifically after installing the drivers offered on your webpage (being Adrenaline 24.8.1), I had later upgraded them to the latest available (Adrenaline 25.6.1). Reverting to 24.8.1 has prevented the flickering issue for a good couple days now.

As such I would like to ask whether there is inherently anything different about the drivers you offer on your webpage compared to the official AMD ones, anything that would make difference in performance. As I have noticed despite the Install Manager stating the software is installed, the exe file and directory is completely missing (shown by the lack of a cnext directory), meaning it cannot be opened.

So my question is whether this is something you have intentionally removed from your driver packagae for whatever reason, or if it’s a fault with AMD somehow? I have reached out to them for support too, although am yet to hear back. Additionally do you recommend I update my drivers when available to the latest that AMD offer, or only use what you offer on your webpage? And finally are there any plans to update the drivers available on your webpage, as AMD have no explicit page for the 8745HS chipset, and only have one for the 8845HS.

Our driver is complete and includes chipset drivers.

Please go to AMD website and download the auto-detect program.It will update some chipsets and video drivers automatically. It will identify and install appropriate drivers for their AMD hardware.
The program works by scanning the user’s system to detect the installed AMD hardware components, such as graphics cards or processors. It then compares the detected hardware information with a database of AMD drivers and software versions.

support7 The auto-detect program only allows for the installation of the latest drivers, being 25.6.1 (or the optional 25.6.2). I am unsure whether it’s due to this version specifically, or some form of cumstomisation from the OEM drivers that is missing from AMDs, but these do not function correctly with the SER8, and causes instability issues and the intermittent black screens I stated at the begining of this thread. As such I am trying to find a way to have the Adrenaline Software become a usable application on specifically 24.8.1, being the version you guys support on your OEM drivers.

AMD have been trying to assist me too, but so far haven’t been able to do much besides recommend I use the drivers on your webpage, which are missing the required application.

We suggest that you’d better use the SER8 8745 graphics card driver provided by us. It will be more compatible with the machine. Sometimes other graphics card drivers may not be compatible.

Hello everyone,

I’m having the same problem with my SER5 PC. I’ve done some research, and it seems to be a bug in Windows 11 version 24H2 with the “Multi-Plane Overlay” (MPO) feature.
