Re: Audio Issue -

Could someone please verify if this problem exists only in Linux or it is also seen in Windows 11? I just ordered my 8845HS so just wanted to make sure what issues I should be prepared for. Such a pity because my 7840HS worked right out of the box like a dream.

support6 The real question is, will the audio jack issue be fixed in the next bios version update?

    Thanks!

Illi I am dual booting Windows 11 and Linux Mint. I am just using a set of headphones in the rear 3.5mm jack.

In Linux Mint I have never heard the least little bit of sound.

In Windows 11 the sound works fine without updating any drivers or anything. It just works. Based on the way you asked your question I assume you’ll be using Windows and I think you’ll be fine.

Just updating my recent comment. I do have sound in Linux Mint. I had just been too afraid to turn it all the way up earlier in order to be able to hear it.

When I turn it all the way up I can hear it in my headphones. I estimate it to be coming across at about 15% of the volume level that it should come out at.

So basically I’m in the same boat as the Arch guys.

support4 I think most people on this post are wanting a fix for “LINUX” sound issues. We are hoping for a bios update in the NEAR future so we can actually use this device. Little to no sound at all through the Aux 3.5 jacks. Please keep us updated on the fix for “LINUX”.

        Thank you!

support4 Unfortunately, it did not work for me. This is what I got:

        C:\Windows\System32>pnputil -a “C:\Users****\Downloads\Audio_9702_UAD_2024_0703_1F660202\9702_UAD_2024_0703_1F660202\Realtek\RealtekHSA_334\RealtekHSA.inf” /install
        Microsoft PnP Utility

        Done

        C:\Windows\System32>pause
Press any key to continue . . .

Thanks for your feedback. We will let you know if there is a new BIOS.

joehonkey I’m also running Arch and have no sounds issues with pipewire

          alevfx Hi there
          thanks for sharing .

alevfx Can you clarify whether that you have “no sound” or if you really have “no sound issues” (i.e. audio working out of the audio jack)? I too am running Arch with pipewire, but the issue has been reported with other distros as well. Thank you.

            DavidJo Good points.
I don’t have any issues at the moment, but I also realize that my sound is routed through the monitor (which works both with HDMI and USB-C) out to speakers; tonight, I’ll try the audio jack. That was my first setup, and iirc I had no issue, I only switched it to the monitor because I have two systems connected to it.

If you have any questions during the use of the machine, please feel free to contact us. Have a nice day!

DavidJo I just plugged in headphones to the front jack and once switching the audio source with wpctl set-default XX ( chech your source id with wptctl status) it worked perfectly with no volume issues.

This has been identified as a BIOS issue. Customers are being made aware. We need serious feedback on if and when to expect a fix.

                jrv Hi there,

Please let us know which version of linux you are using.
Please send us a link for downloading, so that we can test it

support1 I’m on Void Linux since linux kernel version 6.6, currently on 6.12.11. (always had very low sound volume on linux. no problem on windows)

                  Distro download link: voidlinux.org/download

                  Void’s linux kernel metapackage: voidlinux.org/packages/?arch=x86_64&q=linux

                  Thank you.

alevfx That’s very interesting, but the only way I can get anything near good enough volume is to crank it well past 100% volume. Then the audio quality is bad as the audio gets clipped. This is using speakers, not headphones.
@support1 I just did the following test: background noise 27db. Using 50% output volume, speaker full-on. Via USB-C (where it works): 200Hz tone 58db, 1Khz tone 74db. Via front audio jack with same parameters, 200Hz tone 30db, 1KHz tone 52db. Via rear audio jack: nothing audible at all.
We have had people mentioning Arch Linux, Mint and now Void, so it is a generic Linux issue with this BIOS (although my kernel is 6.12.10-arch1-1, pipewire 1:1.2.7-1). As the USB-C dongle method demonstrates, the Linux sound system is working. It’s just the audio jack ports are not working, especially the rear one. Looking forward to an update from Beelink!

Hello, i’m actually facing same issue, but unlike others I dont get the sound at all. I’m seeing the audio is displaying but no sound is coming out at all, only hdmi output (through the built-in monitor speaker) is working.

Here is the information, and screenshotImage description
                    Image description

                    uname -a output:
                    Linux ***-SER8 6.8.0-52-generic #5322.04.1-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Wed Jan 15 19:18:46 UTC 2 ×86_64 ×86_64 ×86_64 GNU/Linux

for both selection is available, but no sound is coming out at all.

Of course, i’ve tried resetting the pulseaudio as mentioned. Please let me know if there is anything else i need to provide to fix this
