I have a Beelink SER5. Here are the numbers from the case in case the photo is not available to you. 9Y.UP3190834B10; SN:Y58003CG30853; SER5 MAX-E-321TBEJ0W64PRO-DP/XA. The current BIOS shows version 5800H602 from 6/15/2023 13:49:16. On the files page, 5800H605_LK_20240906_2024-09-14_9-26-52.zip is available. Is this the latest BIOS for my machine and can I flash that file directly or do I need to incremently flash the previous 603 and 604 BIOS files first in order? Thanks.

Beelink CS-June There is nothing more I can add to what I or other customers like Feahnor or Liquidz have already described to the support channels via email or in this forum. We all tried with concrete tests and evidence but unfortunately Beelink is deliberately avoiding the issue with long or short answers that are completely wrong. The reality is that this is false advertising, and they have sold a product that only works at the minimum of its specifications. The whole argument that the 15W TDP is due to reduced power consumption for heat management is false, because in demanding AAA games the MiniPC doesn’t go above 55 degrees, yet the performance is clearly far below what is expected for the chip. I have already requested a return through Amazon and will leave my negative review of Beelink and the product. Over time, this will likely affect their sales, and for now, I will look for a replacement device from a competitor that offers better customer service and doesn’t lie to the customers

Adding a little more for @Beelink CS-June and @Beelink CS-Bettie I can say that sadly the settings are low level encoded on the BIOS by Beelink and anything on the advanced/administrator options you change for SMU has no effect. For example, if you set all the advanced options to a maximum of 35W TDP, even stressing only the CPU and not reaching thermal protection the CPU won’t get over 28W.
If at least they allow us to set the options and avoid the low level settings it will be a start for a fix for advanced users but as of right now it’s impossible.
The bug it’s so easy to replicate that sucks that Beelink does not fix it. Anytime iGPU TDP goes over 6W, the CPU goes to 5W limit and in this scenario the behavior is that the iGPU goes up to around 9w and the CPU never goes above 5w. On the other hand, if you keep IGPU idle or around 1w/2w TDP and stress only the CPU, the CPU goes to 28w TDP no problem and stays at aroun 75 degrees so cooling solution it’s not a problem. When lots of users return the product maybe they will start listening.

Your replies in this thread aren’t exactly instilling owners with confidence.

The irony is that some were hesitant on purchasing this machine because they thought it may not be an actual Beelink product, turns out wariness was justified but for an entirely different reason.

Looking like return may be the way to go which is unfortunate, as it’s a good little machine except for this one glaring issue.

It’s not on web page and looks like they are mixing overstock parts with little R&D development, that’s why probably the BIOS was originally designed for other APU and using the same coding it’s generating this issues. I highly regret buying it on the first place

This is not acceptable, it’s false advertisement which is illegal in germany!

I bought the Ser5 Max 6800h because of it’s gaming power. Limiting the chip to 28W means I can not use the power you are advertising. The Chip needs 45W, PERIOD. With 28W it can’t even handle WOW on lowest settings, ridiculous!

I will wait 3 days, if the Beelink team continues to ignore the problem I will send the product back and inform Amazon about this clearly false advertisement.

Beelink CS-June Just a heads up so you stop providing bad info. The TDP of 6800u its between 15w and 28w. You cant just set it to max 15w tdp combined when using igpu and cpu, that’s not a decission of compromise between heat, silence and performance that it’s just a faulty bios, bad implementation an false advertising.

I tried to uninstall the driver and restart then tried to update but no luck. It is always with yellow triangle. Please see the photo.

We’ve tested the SER5 MAX with Ryzen 7 6800U and confirmed that its TDP performance aligns with the design specifications.
When running games like World of Warcraft (which heavily relies on the iGPU), CPU utilization stays relatively low, so the power budget shifts toward the iGPU — which is why the TDP might show around 19W in that scenario. However, when both the CPU and iGPU are under load simultaneously (e.g., running a CPU-focused stress test with AIDA64 while also having iGPU-intensive tasks), the TDP can reach or get close to 28W.

This variance in TDP is normal for AMD APUs: power is dynamically distributed between the CPU and iGPU based on workload demands, as part of AMD’s integrated power management. In short, the system’s power delivery works as intended across different types of tasks.

Beelink CS-George World of warcraft uses the cpu HARD if you raid.

It also happens in Spiderman 2 that maxes out the GPU and the CPU. In this game the cpu goes down to 0.4 GHz because it’s not getting enought Watts.

Maybe this is working on your machine and i’m happy for you, but we are several people that can’t replicate this. We get cpu problems when running in combined usage, and this need addressing because maybe your machine is working fine, but our machine is not.

I’ve tried running World of Warcraft while compressing video with handbrake, and guess what? 15W.

Okay so you guys really think it’s okay to limit a 45W Chip to 28W. It is NOT!

I know people who own a 6800H, I know what the chip can do if it gets enough power. With 45W the chip can handle gaming, with 28W it can not.

You ignorant liars are advertising the Ser5 Max 6800H on Amazon as Mini PC that can handle gaming. With 28W it can NOT. As soon as you start a game the cores go down to 400Mhz, because it doesn’t get enough power which is absoluteley ridiculous! A 6800H with 45W can handle WOW, a 6800H with 28W can not. As I said this is NOT acceptable, you are advertising it as machine that can handle gaming.

What you are doing is false advertising, this is ILLEGAL. Due to you guys still acting ignorant and lying to us I sent the PC back today and will inform Amazon about this false advertising, I will write comments about it everywhere I can. Thank you so much for wasting my time and my hard earned money.
