After replacing the factory installed 2×12Gb memory modules with 2×32Gb Crucial p/n CT32G56C46S5.M16B2, the computer freezes at the moment of loading the bios during a “cold” start. Loading occurs from the second or third atempt. After loading - no problems. I checked the memory in various tests. Fastboot works without problems - until the power is turned off. I tried resetting the bios, without result. With factory modules - works properly.

We recommend that you try updating your BIOS.

Please provide a screenshot of your main BIOS page (Please repeatedly press delete key as soon as you turn on the PC, go to BIOS.) and we will provide you with the correct link and tutorial.

I updated the BIOS version to the latest one available on the site. I entered all the memory data manually and disabled memory training, but there is no result - the system cannot reboot, only after 2-5 times I pressed the power button when the power indicator is on, but the screen remains black. After booting, the system is rockstable.

When you say the system is stable do you mean that the machine is running fine now?

After loading - it works fine, but it cannot reboot or turn on normally with new memory installed.

Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem:

1.Check the power supply: Make sure that the power cable is securely connected to the power source and the PC.

2.Press and hold the power button: Sometimes, the PC may not respond to a normal restart command. Try pressing and holding the power button for at least 10 seconds until the PC shuts down completely. Then, wait a few seconds and press the power button again to turn it back on.

3.Check hardware connections: Ensure that all cables and connections inside the PC are secure, including the power cables, RAM modules.

4.Clear CMOS: Please turn off the PC , unplug the power supply, and press the CMOS button (if no CMOS button, please put the pin in the CMOS pinhole and press it ) for about 10 seconds , restart the PC after ten minutes.

5.Boot into safe mode: If your PC is experiencing issues during the startup process, try booting into safe mode. This allows you to load the basic drivers and bypass any potential software conflicts. From there, you can troubleshoot and identify the root cause of the problem.

I tried all of the above. With different memory modules, and in two different Ser 8 mini PCs with different BIOS - everything goes wrong when using the CT32G56C46S5.M16B2 module (2025, Micron chips) - one or a pair does not matter. I think this is a hardware compatibility issue. similar behavior is also present on factory devices - exactly as I describe, you can read about it at the link [
These modules do not behave like this in other systems. Your team can check this issue themselves. Best regards

the PC does not start from the off state, does not reboot from Linux and even from installation USB drives, and you suggest updating the video card drivers :) ?

              Hi there
Will this issue happen if you use original RAMs?
could you send us pics on both sides of the new RAMs?

With original modules it works properly. Now I installed a 64Gb kit from Kingston KF556S40IBK2-64 and it works flawlessly! Sending photo of the modules with which it does not start, the modules have been tested by Memtest, Cinebenh, and other (using SER 8 and Lenovo notebook), in other systems they do not cause any problems with startup.

Tried both and one with the same effect. Since the problem with the Kingston modules has disappeared, I will hold off on updating the BIOS for now plus I have the latest version, as I wrote above.

                  Thanks for your reply.

I have same issue I think - using same Micron memory (1×32GB)

I haven’t gotten it to start at all except once and since then the fan doesn’t even start.

When you say “cold” boot doesn’t work but after 2-5 times it works - is “cold” boot plugging in the power? 2-5 times of pressing the power button 10 seconds to turn off and on again?

changed to a kingston module and now it works …
